Bonus chapter busted
Game is good, as are nearly all Big Fish games. The problem comes in the Bonus Chapter. DO NOT LEAVE the tavern until you've found the coordinates. If you do, you'll be stuck outside with no way to get them. (According to their forums, this "bug" is over a year old.) I bought this game 2 Sep 16, and it's still broken.
Enjoyable game, until it snitted.
(If it's ever fixed, I'll update this.)

Slowed disappointment
Game started out fine. About halfway through continuously froze up very frustrating. Very unresponsive to commands. I finished finally. Even the bonus section had worse problems
Great game
Few glitches but for the most part one of the best games I ever played
Great to relax with
The game design is super creative. Most of all though I like how soothing the music is.
Good game
I enjoyed it..
Love it!
I played it twice. The first time I couldn't finish the bonus game, because it froze, but after the fix, it was great. Thanks
Great new game!
I almost never pay for a new game with no ratings yet, but this one's on sale for 1 more day, for $3.99. I took a deep breath and based on the reviews already written, got it. I am so happy I did!
Beautiful graphics, super story line, a strategy guide, a great interactive map that I found by accident & was so glad. You have to go to the menu to get it. The hint button is very accurate & resets quickly. The games are varied & different which I like, but my favorite part is the HOPs. They're different than any I've ever seen & are somewhat challenging, but not so hard that you want to throw up your hands & quit. No limit, of course, on hints, & you don't have to buy anything once you've bought it. It doesn't seem like it's going to be super short, either.
I really can't think of a bad thing. I think this is the 1st time I've ever given a game 5 stars.

Rite of Passage: The Lost Tides by LynxMinx
Before I review, note to Dracyy! I know migraines are awful, and you shouldn't endure them while playing. Get a prescription for Maxalt-MLT orally disintegrating tabs 10 mgs. They are a life-saver! If your insurance won't cover it, you can get it from Merck directly. Believe me, you will be overjoyed with the very quick relief!
This game was typical Mad Head, and it was sophisticated and fun. Alas, not a five star game. But let's start with the positives. The storyline was interesting, the graphics beautiful and surreal at times, and the cut-scenes realistic and breathtaking. It's a very interactive game, much more sophisticated than other developers save for EIPIX. There were many locations to unlock, and you collect a hidden shell at each one, to play a bonus in the extras section. Morphing objects were only in the HOS. Inventory was labeled, and there were plus items. Loading was instantaneous between locations. The mini-games/puzzles were interesting, and there were also books in which you solve puzzles to unlock more of the story. There was a journal, objectives were updated regularly and there was a teleport map with active tasks marked, depending on how you customize in the options menu. There was also a bonus adventure.
I am deducting a star because I hate having to leave a game and go into the Menu to access a journal and map. I also felt the game should have been a bit longer, because I really loved it. Also, gameplay was flawless until the bonus adventure, in which there is a MAJOR GLITCH! If you don't pick up the navigational ruler before the card game, you cannot get back to the tavern and therefore cannot complete the bonus chapter! This is the first problem that I have ever encountered in a Mad Head game, so I believe they will update it quickly!
However overall a fun game to play and no you-know-whats at all! See I didn't even use the word! Good for me!

Why do you block progress in bonus game?
Game was only ok, as most BF games go. However when I found I was blocked from moving at all when trying to get pilot coordinates in bonus Game I started to hate the game. Thanks to a few of your reviewers who confirmed that BG is responsible for stopping the game!
Will not open after purchasing
I don't by many games but after reading the reviews I decided to buy this game and I'm so sorry I did. The game will not open. It only flash open then close. Very unhappy customer.
Great game
I thought this was a great game. Graphics were excellent, voice acting was so much better than other games, and it had an interesting storyline. Some people commented having issues with interactive map. I never used the map because you never had to wander too far to get what was needed to solve the puzzles. I would have liked a smidge more challenge with the puzzles but otherwise, I loved it.

Lost in a loop
I cannot give this game a good rating because in the bonus game, after winning the pilot's keys back, I became stuck in a loop and could not finish without restarting the whole game. No fun.
Good game
Loved this game. Kept my interest. Definitely good graphics and good story line. My only issue is in the bonus game I can not finish because it glitches out and won't let me finish the game. Otherwise it's a 5 star game.
Lost Tides
This was a very good game. It froze up once but otherwise it was great lots of puzzles not enough HOP's but just a great game all around.
Still Love Mad Head Games
Mad Head has become my favorite developer and usually they hit it out of the park for me. Rite of Passage was a good game overall but for me just not my favorite out of what Mad Head usually offers.
Good Game for most part
I really enjoyed the primary game. Good story line and kept my interest. Good map although I don't like it in the menu area. Mini games not too difficult and hos were fun. The only glitch is that I can't finish the bonus game. I get stuck in the plane and cannot move on. It won't even let me go back. In the guide I am suppose to pick up the back pack and exit plane but I can't pick up the pack. For this reason I gave it four stars. I feel a bit gipped out of my money.

Great adventure
As with other Mad Head games, graphics are stunning, games are unique, and the story is riveting. The underwater scenes were especially well done.
***Do Not Sharpen Pencil with Knife***
Like a previous poster's comment, if you sharpen the pencil with the knife you find on the dock, you will be progression blocked.
You have to get the metal sign from the ship's gate, pry open the wood box on the wall in the club to get a ruler to sharpen the pencil.
It'd be nice if we had a way to reset the progress on bonus chapter, but in order to complete it now, I'd have to redo the main story.

Glitch at Beginning of Game
Could not move the octopus' tentacles in the library. I only played for 10 minutes when this happened. A waste of money!
