Disappointed by Lack of Privacy Protections in River City Christian app
I wanted to like this app, but I have some serious concerns about the permissions it requires and the privacy policy of the company behind it. When you open the app, it immediately asks for access to your location, contacts, photos, media, files, camera, and more. This seems like an excessive amount of personal information for a church app to collect.
Digging into the privacy policy of Subsplash, the company that created the app, it appears they share user data with third parties for marketing and advertising purposes. I find this objectionable for an app associated with a church. There is also a lack of transparency around how this data is secured and protected.
I would urge River City Christian and Subsplash to re-evaluate the app's permissions and data collection practices. Limit the personal information gathered to only what is absolutely necessary for the app's core functions. Be more transparent about data handling and give users clear opt-out choices. Subsplash should also reconsider sharing user data for commercial purposes.
Until these changes are made, I cannot recommend this app. I hope River City Christian and Subsplash will take user privacy more seriously going forward. A church app should be a safe, trusted space, not one that gathers excessive personal data.

I just discovered this app today while going back to the book The Story. I wasn’t aware we can listen to pastor Jesse’s past sermons and all the other sermons from other pastors. Me and my family are so glad to have found this church and our daughter loves their Sunday school! She also loves going to their summer camp. We wish the pastor and his family well and pray for continued strength in these trying times.

New Update
The latest update has easy access to the media library and events. It’s so fast and easy to find your way around. There’s even a way to take message notes on the app and see the growth group questions! I can go back and watch or listen to past sermons very easily, love it!
