Question to developer
Love the app, this is a question to developer: is there any chance of adding widgets, on iPhone I would love to see station launches from my Lock Screen for example. I think they would be a great addition to a already brilliant app

It use to work really well but isn’t anymore. You don’t get notifications when the lifeboats are being or been launched.

It’s a bit buggy.
This is obviously a hobby project for the developer which is now 4 years old, so it would be unfair to expect it to be as polished as a commercial app. The couple of problems I found with it are the notifications are always something like 25minutes late, although this might be a deliberate delay by the RNLI to stop people rushing to the station to watch the launch. I also noticed that despite me only selecting a handful of stations near me, the app would randomly have a fit and start spewing out notifications for every launch in the country. I’ve just had about 5 notifications in quick succession for stations as far apart as the Thames and Poole, the others I would have to look up on a map.

RNLI Pager
A must for anyone interested in or would like to support the RNLI.
It is generally reliable with up to date information on both recent and past launches coupled with ability to choose which lifeboat stations you would like to monitor.

Won’t load notifications on iPhone 11. Is there an update planned? Worked great on iPhone 7

Great app in general, all works perfectly. But I think that you should have a different image for every lifeboat station than the same one.

Keeps lagging out
Really great app! Downloaded recently and it worked the first time I opened it and subscribed but as I went back on it, it will stay open for a few seconds before exiting back to the home page. Other than that it’s an amazing app that lets you feel a bit more aware of what the RNLI do, would be great to get it fixed though.

Fantastic app
Dan, thanks for writing this app. I love to get updates from the lifeboat stations I follow. Such a shame RNLI delays the launch info by 30 mins :( - but realise there is nothing you can do about that.

I can't understand why some people are having problems subscribing. It's so easy to do. Just go to the 'subscribe to notifications' page and tap the names of the stations you want to subscribe to. A tick appears by your selected stations and the 'subscribed stations' increments accordingly. Simple. Brilliant app. And it's free too !

Great app, works well. I have ten Lifeboats in the county where I live. So is good to know when they are out.

it would be better if the notifacations were on time rather than "30 minutes later" and if they told you what has happened but apart from that its not bad just annoying its delayed to by 30 minutes to tell you :(

Love this app, fantastic to see the alerts for any rnli enthusiast. Would be perfect for a Apple Watch app so that could get notifications on my watch face as they happened. Maybe one day.
Notifications now working
The app is great, simple and allows me to see all the launches (or at least the pagers) for my local stations. Hope the RNLI continue to share this information, and possibly more (such as boat type etc) so we can see more about how the RNLI protect our coastlines!
