About

Road Trip Replay records your drives as GPS routes you can relive, share, and export - all stored privately on your device. Works on iPhone and iPad. Record Start a trip with one tap, or tell Siri to start recording hands-free. Choose the level of detail that suits the journey: Normal for everyday drives, High Detail for twisty roads and city streets, or Track Mode for track days and lap analysis. The app records in the background even when your phone is locked, and a Live Activity on your Lock Screen shows your distance in real time as you drive. A GPS status indicator on the home screen shows your signal quality at a glance, from "Excellent" to "No fix", before and during every trip. Replay Watch your route come to life on an animated map, with the road revealing itself as a marker travels your exact path. Speed up or slow down playback, scrub to any point, and see photos you took along the way pinned to the map at the moment you took them. Explore your stats Every trip shows a full breakdown - distance, moving time, stops, top speed, moving average, total climb and descent, and highest and lowest points. All calculated on-device from your GPS data, with nothing sent to any server. Export and share Share your route as a video - portrait or landscape, up to 30 seconds, in Standard or High Quality - and post it directly to Instagram, TikTok, or anywhere else. Choose exactly which photos from along the route appear in it, with your favourites suggested first. Or export as a GPX file to import at RoadTripReplay.com for an interactive replay, speed heatmap, and a shareable link anyone can view without the app. Send a trip to a friend with AirDrop. When they open the GPX file, it imports straight into their Road Trip Replay. Track Mode Built for track days, Track Mode captures every GPS update, about once a second, and starts recording the moment a position is available, with no waiting for a perfect fix. It keeps your screen awake while recording and saves accuracy details with every point, so you get the best data your phone can provide. Export the GPX and load it at RoadTripReplay.com to analyse your laps, sectors and corner speeds. Track Mode uses more battery, so plug in for long sessions. Import Bring in routes recorded elsewhere - GPX files, CSV logs, Vantrue dashcam GPS logs, dashcam subtitle exports, and raw NMEA GPS logs are all supported. Open a file from Files, Mail or AirDrop, or import from Settings. Your trips appear in Past Trips, ready to replay, export, and explore. iCloud backup Your trips are automatically backed up to your private iCloud account, with the option to turn this off in Settings if you'd rather keep trips on this device only. If you get a new phone, your trips restore themselves the first time you open the app. Privacy Everything is stored locally on your device and in your own private iCloud. Nothing is uploaded to Road Trip Replay's servers automatically - your data stays yours.

What's New in Road Trip Replay

1.7

October 7, 2026

What's New in 1.7 Track Mode A new recording mode for track days and lap analysis. It captures every GPS update, about once a second, starts as soon as a position is available, and keeps your screen awake while recording. Each point is saved with its accuracy details, so you can analyse laps, sectors and corner speeds at RoadTripReplay.com. Track Mode uses more battery, so plug in for long sessions. GPS status indicator The home screen now shows your GPS signal quality, from "Excellent" to "No fix", before and during every trip. Recording modes Choose between Normal (the new name for Balanced), High Detail and Track Mode when you start a trip. Existing trips are unchanged. AirDrop and file import Open a GPX route from AirDrop, Files or Mail and it imports straight into Road Trip Replay, ready to replay, export and share. iPad support Road Trip Replay now runs on iPad. Improvements and fixes Fixed Siri sometimes asking for location access you'd already granted when starting a trip hands-free. Behind-the-scenes improvements to import speed and stability.
