Not being honest about paying for dev work
This app and idea has potential but I am on the team that has been doing some of the dev work and I think people need to know that they haven’t been consistently paying and taking care of its team. It doesn’t feel good and is ironic that they are building out a platform focused on generosity and doing good for others when they aren’t following those values internally. And they continue to tout those values to portray themselves as altruistic online. I hope they see this and make it right with their own team, but until then be cautious of this platform and service.

Social Media for Social Good!
Love this app! I no longer feel guilty for all my time spent watching fun videos. Roar Social adds a higher purpose to scrolling and posting. Every video raises money for social causes I care about, like climate change, homelessness, disaster relief, mental health. And by replacing the “like” with a “give” button, I can donate a penny or more to every post I love and know that my time was well spent. Super fun concept, and the Roar Board looks awesome!

Making it count
I’m so glad there’s finally an alternative to the doom-scroll where my existing content can work for a cause vs ego. It’s the same format as the usual IG or TikTok so the switch is easy. I’m getting all my friends in!
