Limited by Subscription

An app like could be a great tool for someone like me who travels often, especially in areas where good coffee can be difficult to find.

By making the app app limited to subscription or a £20(!) price tag without a free with ads version you shrink the amount of information that would make this app as useful and inclusive as it should be.

Furthermore, by not even allowing a free trial it is impossible for me to know if this will work in the areas I’m hoping for.

Lame

Won’t show me more than 4 coffee places without paying money. The four I can see don’t have reviews or photos. Not worth the time it took to download.

Basically Useless

The app is deliberately very unusable to force you into a paid version. Deleted after trying to use it for a couple of weeks.

Well this is handy

I hope there are enough weirdos like me who travel a lot and want to seek out local roasters. This app is what I’ve been looking for.

App is broken

Every Button brings up the paaay meee Im poor dialog. Pretty boring and mucho useless. Trying too hard dude. The other app “Coffee trip” is better in this regard

I love this app! Use it all the time

The app is a great concept. I just wish there was more reviews in and there wasn’t a buy in because of how few reviews there are. Great for big cities and roadtrips

Pay to use?? I don’t want a job

Just found and downloaded the app on a holiday. Then to use the app, I’m expected to pay a fee??

Deleted and moved on. 2nd rate Google may be, however it’s immediately available and a community based app I’m also still paying for Google (Google data/adds/etc).

Perfect guide for coffee lovers

Great app! It’s become my go-to for finding coffee shops when I travel.

Where’s the value?

Struggling to find any value in this app. It’s google maps but just cafes but no reviews so it’s worse. 1. Limited maps, which free google maps gives you all of this. I wish I could find something worth keeping this app but what am I missing?

Cancelling the subscription

They’ve done everything to make paying for the subscription easy — a huge banner on the main screen, reminders, all of it.
But when it comes to cancelling the subscription? Nothing. I couldn’t find that option anywhere in the app. Either it’s buried somewhere on purpose, or it simply doesn’t exist.

In the end I had to block the payment through my bank.

It’s really unpleasant and honestly pretty shady on their part.

Response from developer

Thanks for sharing this — we get why it felt shady. Just one clarification: on iOS, apps aren’t allowed to cancel subscriptions inside the app. Apple requires all cancellations to be done through Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions (not inside the app itself). Still, the app should have made that clear, so your frustration is valid.

Great idea, wish it was free

The app is a great concept. I just wish there was more reviews in and there wasn’t a buy in because of how few reviews there are

Best for travelers!

Roasters is one of my top travel apps. I am always on the lookout for great coffee shops with exciting coffees and I’ve found so many using this app all across the US and Europe. The lifetime subscription is a steal and it helps support an incredible business with the best mission of all: great coffee.

Great app!

Great app, easy to use, awesome for finding and logging the best independent coffee places both in the uk and also internationally!

great app for 3rd wave

I have been using this app since 2023: became an ambassador and have been pushing it to every coffee shop I go because it is the best way to leave mainstream coffee and go to the places that have experienced baristas and better coffee overall

No preview

I can’t see *anything* without first paying $10. For all I know there are no shops around me at all. I’d love to have an idea of what this might have to offer around me beyond Maps, and am not willing to gamble $10. Put in some effort to sell me, I’m not buying on a blind promise.

The Game Changer

While traveling Finding unique specialty coffee roasters use to be real struggle, with RSTRS app simply add the city name and be amazed

Awesome coffee inside

I always use it to find great coffee

Not very good for US

Thank you, Thank you, Roasters

The demise of Beanhunter left a gaping hole as a means of finding and mapping great (and indifferent)coffee spots. Glad to find Roasters filling this gap!

Better selection

Loving the app since the early days and lately thinking to buy a subscription, but lately I see more and more coffee shops that’s shouldn’t be on this app. They are really bad, with low google maps reviews as well. Also some maps of cities now have so many places that look exactly like google maps and you can’t trust the service. Try to improve your approval of coffee shops otherwise the app won’t be helpful anymore. ☺️
