Zombie App

Does not work. Please update or let it die.

Error message

This app does not work at all. It cannot find local restaurants. I’m on the latest iOS on an iPhone 13. Serious update needed.

Best app out there for diners!

If you care about where and what you eat, then this is the app for you! The only one of its kind that let’s me know if the establishment treats their workers well. Reputable research shows that when workers are treated well, the food is better too!

Yes!

Let's do better by service industry employees and support businesses that stand for a livable wage.

Think Again!

It may be that the app doesn’t provide full informational. Maybe the Shake Shack doesn’t offer Service to their Customers. But, the app gives you a handy tool to walk in talking!

An Idea Only

I wanted to see all the restaurants I could to simply chose a better location. You can’t do that or you can’t do that easily. You only get a list based on yes or no questions.

Once I did get a list many of the locations wouldn’t even open. The one that finally did open said it didn’t have information anyways.

Constant crashes

I just heard of this app on Bill Maher’s show and downloaded it but almost every “High Road” restaurant I tap on makes the app crash.
I also agree with the other reviewer’s comment about if the information provided is not correct then it’d be harmful for the business and people working there. I have not found it very useful so far. Hopefully it will get better in time.

Starting point

This app attempts to raise awareness about what most of us do not think about when we eat outside. Of course it requires lots of data as feedback so facilitating what public could find and how to provide it to developers maybe it could help. In a bigger picture if data is inaccurate (talk to your waiter?) people will no longer use it . Hopefully there will be more apps like this to link buying power and truly better businesses. Great concept.

Need to fix information

The ratings are completely wrong. They penalize restaurants for not having tipped workers.

Lacking info/incorrect

This is a really noble idea for an app, but if it's not 100% correct it can be really damaging to a business's reputation. Right now it is full of misinformation and of course in its early stages it leaves out the vast majority of restaurants that deserve acclaim. My fear is that if people start to trust it as a means of judging restaurants and it isn't totally correct, good businesses will suffer. It's going to be very difficult for the makers of the app to accurately collect information from reliable sources. Shake shack getting knocked for paying their tipped workers too little when they don't have tipped workers is just one example of the potential flaws.

I don't think people have enough appreciation for the responsibility they are taking for other people's livelihoods when they start publishing information (or misinformation) about businesses in a forum that may be accepted as fact. Particularly when that info implies a moral judgment!

Nice concept

I'll keep the app bc this is something I do care about and I do visit DC relatively often. But I do wish they'd expand to other areas and since it hasn't updated since 2012, it doesn't seem like they're planning to.

Completely non-functional

on iPhone 4. Delete.

Would be more useful if configurable

Being able to specify your own minimums for wages, etc. would be a big improvement. $5 an hour plus tips may be enough in some cities, but SF, Seattle, NY my ethical bar is a bit higher and we’re fighting for $15 in Seattle, not $9 which seems to be a preconfigured default for the app. Nice v1 idea.

Awesome idea, useless app

They've only covered a few metro areas - and some chains, but if you're not in a covered metro area, they don't even show the chains near you. Pity the PDF on their web site is alphabetical by company including all the one off companies in those metro areas. Actual usable info is hard to get on the site, impossible in the app. Presumably if you're in a covered metro area the app is better, but since I'm not, I really can't be sure.

Consumer Power!!!

This app is a great resource for the workforce, employers and consumer!!

Idea is great - delivery is not!

Watch CSPAN book tv and became interested. Unfortunately, very limited coverage. Should take advantage of user reviews and allow larger geographic input. I am not in the industry, but understand the challenge. Don't limit your canvas (coverage) if you want a complete picture and a "mass movement". I will keep the app for 3 mo. If no change in the quality of the app, I will delete. Most will not be as patient.

Great idea - Please keep working on the app

Thanks for putting this out there. Apps like this are desperately needed to empower consumers and citizens.

Doesn't Work

I thought it was the fact that I didn't give it access to location settings, but this app doesn't do anything as far as I can tell. Too bad.

Nothing comes up in search or list. I can manually select a city, but nothing comes up. I can use the map to navigate to an area, but no restaurants are shown. If I then leave the map and come back, the map has reset to some ocean area off Western Africa and is zoomed all the way in.

Location services MUST be on

Your location services must be turned ON for it to work at all. Then it works fine.

Poor implementation of great idea

Nothing works yet
