Rock Identifier: Field Kit

Rock Identifier: Field Kit is a rock identifier that helps you identify rocks and find minerals, crystals, and gems from a photo. Each result shows a likely match, confidence, and alternative candidates so you can understand uncertainty instead of receiving an unexplained answer. IDENTIFY WITH CONTEXT • Photograph a specimen or choose an image from your library • Review likely matches and confidence • Compare alternative candidates when a specimen could have more than one identity • Correct the result when your own field knowledge points elsewhere EXPLORE THE FIELD GUIDE • Learn useful properties such as hardness, streak, luster, crystal system, and chemical formula • Read practical identification clues and safety notes • Explore known localities and occurrence information • Separate geological facts from clearly labeled folklore and cultural traditions BUILD YOUR COLLECTION • Save identified specimens to My Rocks • Add personal notes and organize your finds • Keep exact collection pins private • Explore approximate community finds and the Rock Atlas Photo identification is a field aid, not a laboratory analysis, appraisal, or guarantee of authenticity. Handle unknown minerals carefully and consult a qualified expert when safety or value matters. PRO FEATURES Pro features require an additional purchase. Choose an auto-renewing monthly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase where available. Pro unlocks unlimited identifications and expanded collection history.
