RockClue: Rock Identifier

Find clues before you head into the field. RockClue brings rockhounding places, specimen identification and your private collection together in one field companion. EXPLORE PLACES Browse a source-backed map of rockhounding places. Search by place or mineral, read access notes and rules, and save favourites and your own private spots. PLAN WITH CONTEXT Open a place to see what you might find, official U.S. geologic map data for the spot, and an hourly forecast for U.S. places. IDENTIFY SPECIMENS Take or choose up to four photos and compare your specimen with ranked possible matches. Results are clues for further research, not a laboratory determination, appraisal or authenticity guarantee. BUILD YOUR COLLECTION Keep your stones in My Stones with photos, field notes and a specimen passport, and back up your collection to Files. COLLECT RESPONSIBLY A public-land label is not permission to collect. Ownership, claims, closures, permits and limits change. Always confirm current rules with the original source or land manager. ROCKCLUE PRO RockClue is free to download.
