Good idea, poor execution
Really want to love it, it’s useful if you’re just trying to look at the reviews, but it’s very frustrating to use. Search function is terrible. Why do I need to move the map view over to the area the venue is located to be able to search it? It’s all so laggy that the already clunky system is even more frustrating.
My biggest issue is there’s no option to leave some areas on the reviews section blank/mark them unknown, which is my biggest issue. I am not a regular wheelchair user, and when I do use one, it’s an unusually narrow one so my experience isn’t very useful. I cannot eyeball 36 inches and I am not going to carry around a tape measure. As is, the options are potentially ruin someone’s night or not provide any info.
I’m also confused by there not being a question about whether bathrooms specifically are accessible without using stairs. Yes, there’s the different floors question, but some venues have balconies that aren’t essential to use of the space, and some single floor venues or ones that do have elevators or ramps between floors still have bathrooms only accessible via stairs. I’ve been trying to leave reviews on several venues that have this specific issue and can’t effectively.
I’ve been noting this in the extra comments section, but it’s unbelievably annoying. The whole screen literally jiggles with every keystroke. Who could possibly have thought this was a good idea. It’s a nightmare.
Overall has a lot of potential and is useful to view, just a real headache to contribute to.

It’s amazing I love it. It will help so much
Wish I could love it, but…
I wish I could love this app. But quite frankly, it is extremely laggy and difficult to use. I cannot use the location search half the time. The thing that really grates me though is the fact that making an account on this app signed me up for an email list without my prior knowledge. Said email list is about the app and accessibility in general, but whoever is in charge of this newsletter keeps promoting generative AI as if AI is making the world more accessible. Newsflash: AI is actively making the world less accessible to disabled people, I can’t believe that I have to get this garbage in my inbox once a month. Not impressed with any of it.

Great app + potential, still buggy
I love the concept of this app and it’s probably one of the best ones I’ve found so far, the main issues though are that it’s still very buggy and it seriously needs a N/A option and rewording for some of the questions. I’m really confused though cause before I updated I would sometimes randomly be given a different set of questions that were better and had N/A options which I much preferred, and other times be given ones without N/A options and less detailed questions. Now that I’ve updated I only get the less detailed ones without N/A options and I’m having to give places poor ratings because they don’t have tables or other things at all so I answer no.
Please please please fix this!! I was really enjoying answering the more detailed ones with N/A options as it was more accurate, now I don’t like rating places at all cause of the inaccuracy. Also the link in settings to the help and feedback site is completely broken and does nothing when tapped so I can’t even give feedback that way. It would also be good to have a toggle option for the confetti when you rate a place, it’s overstimulating for me and seriously wish I could turn it off. Not to mention dark and light mode would be nice

I have my whole family using this app, able bodied or not! I have two potential improvements for the app down below. Thank you for creating this app, and reading this message.
1. Somehow get more reviews? Maybe make it more enticing to people? Rewards? Something that will keep folks engaged in how many places they have logged.
2. Allow users to DM each other!! It would be incredible to meet other local friends that also use the app / also are disabled!

I love this app both in purpose and function. That said - to the developers - please fix the permissions requirements!
The app required me to share full access to my photo library and access to my Media and Apple Music and microphone and camera. All I wanted to do was change the profile picture. Because I set up my account through Google, it had my real image as the profile, and I do not prefer that for privacy reason.
I decided I wasn’t too worried about it and gave it access to everything but because I have 74,000+ in my images library the app, then started to crash every time I tried to change my profile picture.
Please make it so that “limited access” can be used to select photos rather than requiring all privacy permissions to be turned on. Currently there seems to be nothing I can do to remove my face from the profile.

Loading issues
I wanted to use this app but I’ve only been able to view reviews already left, and anytime I try to add my own, the page will spend ages trying to load, and never finishing.

Now, I’ve seen a few reviews saying, “The app isn’t perfect.”
Newsflash: neither is my coffee order, my sleep schedule, or the GPS that told me to drive into a lake.

Fantastic app!
I really like this app and use it a ton to review the accessibility of different venues and restaurants. It feels like a community for sure and I love to look at other peoples reviews in random places around the world. Roll Mobility serves as a good reminder sometimes that wheelchair users can go to lots of places, or at least have been to lots of places. Also, that disabled people and their family/friends exist and that we want you to upgrade your place to welcome all disabled patrons(ramps, hearing loop support, large print formats, etc)!!! Anyway, the app allows you to make easy yes/no/na choices on the accessibility of each place that you rate and to add comments below. I am excited about updates to the app that are coming soon, including the ability to edit reviews and delete reviews. I believe that it’s only a few people working on the app though, so really it is just cool to see this get off the ground :)

Hello, I just wanted to write to thank you for this app. I really appreciate it. I was having the worst day ever today when someone that I had told about your app thanked me for telling her about it. She told me she was previously feeling really sad when I’d last seen her but since then she and her carer have been out and reviewed 18 different establishments. She has discovered new wheelchair safe routes and has also updated these on the app. She is no longer feeling low and that she doesn’t want to leave the house any more. She is enjoying helping our community and has a new zest for life. Shes found that a local beach offers beach wheelchairs so she going in the sea for the first time in ages. She’s grown in confidence and has campaigned for more social worker hours and has won. She also has our local mp listening to her and they are going to fix the pavements where there are no ramps off them and fix the potholes. She was glowing, we were both in tears as she was a whole new empowered person and I wanted you to know that you have done this. You have helped so many people. Thank you! Jo

Shows ads when scrolling. Needs a light/white mode
EDIT: the app is showing ads and linking to the App Store any time I touch the screen. Making it impossible to use!
The concept and basic functionality is great but the dark/black mode is really hard to view for some people (like me). There needs to be a light/white mode for users who need different contrasts.

I’ve tried for months to be able to add reviews, but that functionality doesn’t work. It just takes you back to the map over time over.

What a disappointment
I was really excited as a wheelchair user to be able to share with other wheelchair users info on accessible businesses in the NYC area, because so many are not accessible. I never got past the sign up page. I got multiple error messages that my data couldn’t be loaded or my password was incorrect. I changed my password 5x and tried to reload more times than I can count. I’m done. Deleting the app now. It’s a shame.

Requires sharing location data to use
I am new to the app. I was unhappy to learn that my location services need to be on and sharing data with this app in order to access the app at any level. Even if what I want to do is prospectively plan a trip and review locations in advance, my location sharing must be active to get into the app. To me this is a significant limitation. To save battery and some sense of control of my data, I don’t have location tracking and sharing on at all times. I certainly don’t need it for all of the benefits this app offers.
That said, the app provides useful information and empowerment that is welcome.

Extremely helpful
I write this with hope that even those from small towns such as myself will download this. Even if you do not use a wheelchair or live somewhere with a small population this app is incredibly helpful. Not only am I able to check places I have reviewed or others have reviewed to see the accessibility but I can also fill in places that haven’t been reported on or have been reported wrong. Even if you do not use any mobility aids I strongly believe that getting this app and filling out info on places you visit can cause a huge positive impact for those with mobility concerns.

Wish it worked
It’s such a great idea but search doesn’t return any results and no reviews are visible regardless of where I look. They used to be visible and searchable, now nothing at all shows up.
