Needs work
The way the messaging system works you can’t tell if somebody’s messaging you directly or if it’s just a message to everyone regarding people looking for rooms. I had my listing up for about a month and I messaged several people on the app with no responses at all. I live in a well populated area so I expected a little bit more out of this app.

Misleading Subscription
I got notifications that I had six messages to read. You can’t read the messages without a subscription. So I thought, it would be worth a week to respond to everyone. Turns out it was just random people advertising the rooms I already rejected because they weren’t a right fit.
DONT WASTE YOUR TIME
Craigslist,fb marketplace and even word of mouth has better results than this app. The developers purposely designed it to archive message even when ppl reply so you’ll miss messages. You can’t use messenger unless you pay and they pretend like you have messages however it’s just a trick to lure you in to paying. If I can rate 0 stars I would.

This app is slow, buggy and you have to pay a subscription to do anything worth while, which might not even work bc of the buggy system.

Hate to be alerted for no reason
I don’t like broadcasts. I rather be alerted when someone is actually responding to my ad. The broadcasted message insinuates that you have a message from someone interested in roommates/renting. Please stop this. I hate paying to respond to messages that aren’t directed at me/my ad personally.
Terrible App
$12/wk is insane for an app that doesn’t allow you to filter out people. Also, it seems roommate seekers can send out mass messages so you’re constantly getting notifications which is extremely annoying. Terrible app!

This is the most elusive and poorly designed app for finding roommates I've ever seen. It's garbage and a total rip off
Messages locked behind paywall
I downloaded this app to look for rooms and roommates, but I can’t even view messages sent to me unless I pay. That makes the app hard to use because you don’t know if the messages are real, useful, or worth paying for until after you subscribe. It feels misleading for a roommate app to limit basic communication this way. I would not recommend it unless they make messaging more transparent.

I only used roomster for a week and I deleted my account. I keep getting charged 29.99 and I can not find the subscription to get it canceled. Nor do they have customer support SCAM DO NOT DO !

Terrible app. Only way you can read ANY message is if you buy the subscription. But then most of the messages you’ve gotten end up being SPAM. Roomster then isn’t able to issue a refund for the inconvenience. Completely unacceptable. Do not use this app.
Why does it keep deleting my account!
In the span of one week rooster has deleted my account twice and every time they say oh our apologies here’s your account back, but all of my messages have been deleted. When I go to call Roomster customer service The automated voice tells me to call back during business hours which it explains are the hours that I’m calling at.

Total Scam
I never pay for apps, but I have been desperate in the roommate search. I paid for only one month, responded to one of the multiple messages, and immediately got banned before I could reply to any of the others. Tried to request a review, and it states I had “misconduct” and I wasn’t eligible for review! Don’t waste your time!

100% Scam top to bottom. Only 1/3 of the people on there even MIGHT be real. They charge you to use the MESSAGE feature. Trash. No idea what their angle is, but this is a scam.
