About
Every watch app starts the moment you own it.
Rotorfolio starts earlier — at the boutique visit, the allocation list, the years between wanting a watch and wearing it. That part of collecting has never had anywhere to live.
THE WAIT
• Allocation lists with the boutique, the salesperson and the day you joined
• A clock that counts the wait in years, months and days
• A reminder when it has been too long since you last spoke to them
• Milestones as the wait passes a month, three, six, a year and on
THE CALL
• Mark it acquired and the wait becomes part of the watch's record, not something you half-remember
• What you paid, in the currency you actually paid, and the serial number
• Photographs with the place, the date and a caption: the boutique shot, the wrist shot, the paperwork
WORTH TELLING SOMEONE
• A share card for any watch: your own photograph, the model, and what the wait took
• Never what you paid, never the serial number
• Watch of the day — a piece of horological history each morning, with a photograph, to send on with a line of your own
LIVING WITH IT
• An insurance schedule as a PDF, with per-currency subtotals — nothing converted, nothing guessed at
• Set to time: a haptic countdown to the exact minute against a reference clock, logged as a fresh start
• Accuracy: note how many seconds your watch is off and it works out the daily rate between readings
• A service log with the watchmaker, the cost and the warranty, and a reminder before the next service is due
• A timeline for each watch, from the first time you tried it to today
WHEN IT GOES
• Sold, traded or returned — kept in Gone, without erasing the years that led there
ADDING A WATCH TAKES SECONDS
• Type the reference, or browse fifteen brands and more than five thousand references by collection
• Point the camera at the warranty card or caseback and the reference is read off it
• Paste a link from the manufacturer's site and the watch arrives with its specifications
• Anything not in the catalogue can still be entered by hand — nothing depends on it
ON YOUR PHONE
• Home and lock screen widgets: one watch, or the next thing to do
• Meetup mode hides prices and serial numbers while you show the app to someone
• Lock the app behind Face ID
• Your collection syncs through your own iCloud, private to you
PRIVATE BY CONSTRUCTION
