Why I built this Hey, I'm Carole, a brand and web designer passionate about Americana and the Mother Road. I first drove part of Route 66 through Illinois in 2017, and came back in 2026 for the full route during the centennial. Between those two trips, I used printed guides, downloaded several apps, and still kept finding places that had closed, changed hands or disappeared — and others that had been quietly restored and brought back to life. The road is alive in a way that's hard to capture in any single book or app. Route 66 belongs to passionate people — travellers, business owners, historians, photographers, restorers — who keep showing up for it. I wanted to build something that reflects that. Not a list of places scraped from somewhere else, but a logbook for the road, shaped by the people who actually drive it. This is just the beginning.
