What's New in Routine

5.1

September 7, 2026

We've heard your feedback so far (thank you!) and have fixed some bugs and made some major adjustments/improvements detailed below (enjoy the massive list): • Calendar sync. You can now sync all of your calendars (Google, Outlook, Yahoo, etc.) into the Routine app via Apple's Calendar ecosystem. Still fully private, no data is shared or sold. Calendar events from Apple calendar and any other calendars added will appear as a block (Holidays included too, no checkboxes on those) that you can edit yourself and change. Each added calendar gets its own tag. You can change the color of the calendar tag but not the name. Easily disconnect a calendar if you don't want the blocks there anymore and/or add it back anytime. • Introducing a new view in your Tomorrow tab: Calendar view, fully replacing the list view that felt cluttered. Click on any day and your blocks will popout for you to view, edit, or add more exactly like the weekly list view. • Completed tab is gone since on the Tomorrow tab you can now see everything in your past (grey dots from blocks/routines). Click on those days and you'll see everything you've completed. Want to bring a task back? Hold down on a block and bring to any date (now or in the future). • Someday tab bug fixed. You weren't able to edit a saved Someday item. • Routines stay in the order you set. They no longer reshuffle when you open the app. • Hold a routine or block to move/reorder. Move sends it Up, Down, To top or To bottom. (This is potentially temporary as we work to make routines and blocks in each tab draggable to reorder in this manner) • The create routine screen is redone and way better. Prior you could only set a routine for a specific day/time (one at a time) and not have multiple different days within the routine. Now you can fully customize a routine to be exactly what you need it to be through the Blocks you add via the Schedule pill. (We also fixed a bug that caused the layout to stretch beyond the screen; this rendered the routine useless but this is now all good!) Ex. of how Routines work: You want to create a Honey-Do List for House work, you name it "Honey-Do List", then you want to mow the lawn every Sunday but only want to change the Air Filter on every 1st Sunday of every month. With the use of "Schedule", now this can be done within one Routine. • If blocks are next to each other on the Today & Tomorrow tab, they are joined together, giving a more seamless look with your Routines • Move works on every tab: Routine, Today, Tomorrow and Someday. • A block with no time can be moved above a routine. Anything with a time is placed by the clock. Time always takes precedence. • The circular Lock Screen widget is now a progress gauge for today and your Large Home Screen widget is now the Tomorrow's calendar view (fully engaging) • All blocks/routines in the Tomorrow tab that could be extended/collapsed are much smoother now for a seamless UX. User reviews

Good! Couple recommendations.

I enjoy how simplistic the app is and the prices really aren’t that bad (0.99/month or 9.99 for life). You can create as many routines as you need.

My suggestions are as follows: please fix the glitch that occurs when you enter the app, as it switches the order of the routines. Additionally, it’d be cool if we could set these routines for a specific time of day, instead of just the tasks inside them (this would better accommodate time flexibility for many users). A final note— being able to hold and move any item I would be super handy, especially if one needs to rearrange task or routine order. Happy to update review if these changes are implemented!

Response from developer

Hi thyme2323! Thank you very much for the feedback, we love your ideas and this is exactly what we need to improve the experience for you and everyone else. We'll work hard to implement them in the next update which will be soon. In the future, if you could send any feedback, bugs, or issues to help.routine@yahoo.com that would be great. Thank you so much again! (Edit: Please update your app to version 5.1 to see the changes made. We think you'll be stoked! Thank you!)

Finally Found Peace

Not to be dramatic, but this app saved my relationship with my kids. The mother of my children and I are at constant odds; she’s very Type A and I’m very Type B. I definitely don’t make it easy on her or the kiddos when I’m late to picking up the kids for Dad’s weekend, and she definitely doesn’t let me stop hearing about it in court. But this app, through its useful tools and simplicity, helped me rally gain control of my planning. My favorite feature is the fact that I can set alarm reminders for my schedule, through the easy to use software. Genuinely so grateful to have found this app, and it’s even got a shoutout in court. Shout out to the developing team; keep up the great work.
