Nice app, lots of potential if updated
If this app worked properly and received some updates it would be brilliant. Technically the app does everything advertised however after about 10 seconds of use the video stream becomes unusable due to bad stuttering. Movement of the robot remains perfect however.
If this app got some updates, for example the addition of two way audio capabilities it would be better than the browser interface (as long as the bugs like meantioned above are fixed too)

It is no quite what I expected. The video is slow and choppy. There is no capability of raising the camera. However, camera control of exposure is not bad.
Impressive UI but...
Dusted off my Rovio the other day and rediscovered this app - now updated. Amazing for an old bit of kit. Really impressive UI and tweaks but sound button just gives white noise (even rebooted and reinstalled firmware) and can’t action paths. Video is a bit slow compared to a PC connection. Lots of settings to play with too. Would be nice if Wowee updated the product too... ahead of its time.
Additional comment after using for a month... still like the UI but the video is crap - slow to update and jerky even on a local connection. I’m sure the previous version of this app was better. Bought Rovio Chat app for comparison. Not as slick interface but video is superb and quick even remotely. Sound system works too. Switched to this app and uninstalled Rovio Control. Oh and bugs reported to developer though appear not really interested.

By far the best with tons of features and very reliable
App does not work
Purchased for an iPhone 5 and will not open. Keeps asking for wifi connection and my phone has internet. No options to fix.
Very good.
Would be excellent if there was 2-way audio aswell. Please add this.

The creator of this app has been fantastic at responding to issues when they occur. After iOS6, I was no longer able to use the Rovio as an offsite surveillance device so I contacted him. He replied by email very quickly and said he would work on it. Less than week a new version of the app! Fantastic!
I'd say it's much better, not as good as pre-iOS6 and still some choppiness. Thanks for working on it and be wonderful if it could be tweaked further.
Btw, check some of the other apps Tommy has created. If you have the AR.Drone like me, he's got apps for that too!

Oddly, I find the video slower in iPhone 5 running iOS 6 compares with my iPad running 5.1. I think this is apples fault.

iOS 6
This was perfect Until I updated the phone to the iOS 6 now you cannot See any video at all.

Update: unfortunately the new version almost makes the app unusable. I'm on ios6 and the previous version ran fine, but as soon as I updated the app the video streaming became laggy like a slideshow.
The new video brightness feature is a welcome feature. I will be using that a lot if the video lag gets fixed.

There is not a better Rovio controller outside of a a teal computer.
Just one complaint
1) no way to stop the HOME command once it starts. If I change my mind, or my dog knocks the sensor, Rovio just spins forever trying to find home.
The voice commands are cool although sometimes it repeats itself.
What would be great would be if Rovio could play a PHRASE THAT I TYPE. that would be wicked cool. Other apps have voice generators, why can't this one.

iPhone control excellent
I have found this rovio controller to be very intuitive, the control is excellent, very precise and fast. All the controls are included, including the ability to communicate through the speakers with pre defined text, however I can't help but think that it would be better if you could type talk using the same system, or even the use of the microphone to talk would be equally welcome. Also i would like to be able to hear the rovios microphone, as if I was away from home, I could then use it to communicate with my family. Apart from that it is excellent, I would recommend this to anyone who has a rovio.

I've tried several other Rovio apps, and this by far is the best! Just the ease of control is worth using it, not to mention the other features. Nice work!

Pro: works well and utilize Internet access to Rovio too. I like the Rovio phrases. Worth buying if you own Rovio.
Con: no iPad tilt feature capability to move Rovio and Rovio's easy 360 turn feature is not available. Only turn left and right stick and gliding stick on the right side for control.
