About
Someone sends you a database. You are not at your desk.
Rowid opens it on your phone — and tells you the truth about what is inside, including the parts other viewers quietly skip.
WHAT IT OPENS
SQLite databases (.sqlite, .db, .sqlite3), CSV and TSV, JSON and NDJSON, XML, YAML, Apple property lists and .strings, SQL dumps from MySQL and PostgreSQL, pg_dump custom-format archives, Apache Parquet, Apache Avro, and plain logs. Open them from Files, or send one to Rowid from Mail, Slack or any share sheet.
IT DOES NOT LIE TO YOU
Most viewers show you fewer rows and say nothing. Rowid says something.
• A database shared without its write-ahead log is missing rows. Rowid names the missing file and warns you, because SQLite itself raises no error.
• A corrupt page stops other tools dead. Rowid recovers the rows either side of the damage and tells you how many it could not reach.
• NULL, an empty string and an empty BLOB are three different facts, drawn three different ways.
• Core Data timestamps are seconds since 2001, not 1970. Printed raw they are wrong by 31 years — plausibly enough that nobody notices. Rowid decodes them.
• A SQL dump that partly fails is reported statement by statement, with the reason for each.
BUILT FOR BIG FILES
A 2.8-million-row database opens in well under a second and pages instantly at any depth, because the row order is indexed once rather than re-sorted on every scroll. A 120 MB CSV is read by byte offset, so jumping to the last row is immediate. Nothing is loaded into memory that does not need to be.
IT CANNOT CHANGE YOUR FILE
Rowid copies your file into its own storage and reads the copy. While you browse it re-checks the original's size, modification date and content hash, and shows the result at the bottom of the screen — including when it could not check.
IT WORKS IN AIRPLANE MODE
Nothing is uploaded, because nothing can be: the app links no networking framework at all. No account, no analytics, no ads, no tracking.
FREE AND PAID
Reading your files is free, at any size — opening, browsing, searching and sorting, in every format above. Rowid Pro adds the schema view, SQL queries, export as CSV/JSON/SQL/Markdown, and saved queries. One payment, or a subscription with a 3-day free trial.
ELEVEN LANGUAGES
English, 中文, हिन्दी, Español, العربية, Français, বাংলা, Português, Bahasa Indonesia, Tiếng Việt, اردو — with proper right-to-left layout, while the data grid and the SQL editor stay left-to-right where they belong.
SUBSCRIPTION TERMS
Both subscriptions start with a 3-day free trial, which becomes a paid subscription automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before it ends. Rowid Pro Monthly — US$1.99/month.
