Great app!

I love throwing this in my chain as a parallel part of the rig for a nice fusion lead tone.

Dude!!!!!

It’s so good , I don’t even want others to know about this app. I’m from a small Texas town and I’m not sure people are ready for me to blow their minds. This turned a bad day into a really great life. Genius developer.

Was expecting something useful

Yonac makes some great apps. My favorites are the Steel Guitar Pro and the Galileo 2 in terms of usefulness and the way they fit with other apps and midi control effects in an app like AUM. I don’t have Magellan Synth 2 or the newest Trooper, which I would love to check out, but haven’t found the reason to spend $15 for each yet.

There is a lack of consistent quality guitar interface synths with midi translation that maintain iOS updates. The decent ones seem to suddenly vanish - like midimorphosis.
That being said, that’s not what this app is. In fact there is no midi control function. It’s just a very thick and oozing filtering app that takes a guitar signal and destroys it with effect parameters commonly found on oscillation type synthesizers, with filtering, arping, and all of the other common audio effects, plus lots and lots of distortion.
I have yet to find a use for it honestly, which is weird considering how many presets it has - presets that have very little range. Of you want to go from noisy lower pelagic oceanic deep distorted and modulated reverb to lush distorted low pass filtered arpeggiated offset delays that have no discernible pitch modulation, then there are millions of presets for everything in between those two.
If there were better clean tones, o might be able to use this.

A rare miss imo for Yonac, but you might find it vastly and useful.

Zero tech-support if you have a problem

It pains me to give this a negative review because the videos look so cool but after paying for it it has some problems and I am not able to successfully run it. I’ve reached out to tech-support through their website and emails multiple times over the past few weeks with zero response. I feel like my money has been stolen.

1-star for hobbling GarageBand on Apple Silicon, and not responding.

Things do go wrong. But this is two of this developer’s apps now, consistently cause GarageBand AUv3 issues, this is by far the worst for this (pls see below). I gave it 3 stars for the hobbling of GarageBand, but now it’s one star because I think it’s being ignored. I actually slightly object to being an unofficial test-pilot for the app-makers. Being a test-pilot and the issue being ignored, for 3 apps (just got KASPAR and it’s got it’s own issues), is too much, sorry Yonac, please do fix it. If it’s ongoing work, fine. But that needs said, is all.

Love Yonac apps, have a lot of them, they are great. But, keeping up with Apple’s changes is stretching some developers it seems, and while some issues can be a quality issue, this literally stops the use of GarageBand, if it is placed an any FX list, for any instrument. Long story short, you are sent round and round, when you try to exit - but you can never exit and save. I have let Yonac support know. I won’t use an app if there is a fair chance it will lose me my work - and this is not a 50/50, it’s absolutely guaranteed, it does it ten out of ten times. Then I delete Roxsyn from the single track it’s on, and voila, all works as normal. Apple iPad Pro M1. 12.9” and iPadOS 15.7.1 so it could just be Apple Silicon affected? I don’t know. It’s above my IQ grade! Sorry Yonac, hope it can be fixed soon. I also have a similar issue with Yonac’s Galileo Organ 2, but I mentioned that to their support as well, it’s more like half the time, it fails to permit exit/save in GB.

Uniquely unusable

Noisy af, the patches all sound the same- none of them offering a sound that is usable in a musical setting. Better results can be easily obtained using a pitch shifter a delay and mod fx (all available for FREE). Great looking interface that doesn’t do much of anything useful.
I love the idea though- hope in the future this is updated with real oscillators and a sound palette worthy of the name “guitar synth”.

Best damned app for iPad + guitar

Bought this app for 0.99. I can’t stop playing with it on my iPads with the apogee jam interface!!!
So many sounds professional sounding arps & synths with pads and bass synths.
For me a jakoff guitar player, I love it because I don’t have to know music theory or guitar to play it because it does it all rhythm tempo plus you can get lost in designing your own sounds!
Great job Roxsyn keep up the good work!

Doesn’t work

I can’t get this to work in any shape or form. Can’t even get a single sound out of it. I have ToneStack pro and have zero issues with that so no idea why this doesn’t work. I’ve gone through every tips video, watched loads of other YouTube videos and still not found anything that makes this thing make any noise. I’ve tried reaching out to support for help but like other reviews I’ve had no response.

7 stars... I really mean it. 7 stars.

The open ended capacity of this app is mind blowing. Started playing with it a month ago.
It's responsive, brilliant, wild.
The developer is a masterful cocreator for my music.
It's a pleasure playing with you, brother…

Amazing

Unique !
The tones are amazing.
One can edit the tones in literally an infinite amount of variation.
I have been messing with this for hours and have been drawn in to the point where I forgot to eat lunch.
I don’t believe there is anything quite like this on the App Store.

Worth every penny

Great app! Very cool guitar synth at a fraction of the price. I’d be happy to pay for an upgrade for more waveforms/waveshapers too. Really fun product, no midi, no tracking delays!

Wow....just...wow...

I am a keyboardist first and foremost and I’m okay at playing guitar but I can’t seem to put the guitar down now since I got this app...it’s a game changer!! Just a total different perspective on what you can do with strings. I remember a friend having the Roland GR1 way back in the 90’s and that thing never came close to what you can do with this... it’s simply amazing I have had a constant smile on my face since I plugged into it, so much fun!

I love the response, but...Developers please add some features

This is the best guitar synth that picks up all the dynamics that other midi guitar synths don’t..It doesn’t have limited sound that gives off like the other apps, its very expressive with stuff like bending notes and vibrato.

I just wish that the voices provided in this app also included saw wave, sine wave etc.

All the sounds start sounding the same after a while.

This app has a lot of potential to have a guitar player/ synthesist change the instrument of a synthesizer. The guitar is way more expressive than the piano because of how human it is to press a note on a fret and have it slightly off pitch when bending it just a little..the piano is so rigid in playing notes..sure they have a pitch wheel but its not as expressive as shaking notes on a guitar with your finger or whammy bar.

If they have the traditional sounds like the sine wave and sawtooth, synthesizer players might consider playing a guitar instead..like what if there can be a foot pedal that can allow you to oscillate manually like a wah pedal.

Please add the feature of adding the traditional sine wave and sawtooth, triangle, square etc. voices

Doesn’t work wih external midi

It even recognizes my midi controller but just won’t work...and sine it has no built in virtual keyboard...it’s practically useless right now

Some presets make no sound

I really like the app. All in all it works very good.
Only two issues.
Some of the presets produce no sound. Most do, but some just have no sound.
Also, it’s output level is a little to inconsistent and low for actual live use.
Otherwise, very fun, and 100% worth downloading.

As guitar synths go

This is the 1st guitar synth
that I've ever found playable.

The latency is negligible if one is used
to playing through an audio interface.

So far I've tried it on drum loops and guitar.

I think it's brilliant.

Nice one.

Great app!

I bought this app because I thought it had the ability to be used as a MIDI instrument on other DAWS like midi guitar 2 but it seems like this is not capable. Otherwise great app. I would give it 5 stars if it had that function.

“Rocks in” the effect slot

Even if u don’t play guitar...open it in the effects slot in AUM or AUDIOBUS and run your synths through it for a breath of fresh air...this app is all killer, no filler! Nice work Yo...

NICE APP

Sounds great and the developer is a generous person. I had one complaint about it and he assured me that the next update will address that issue. In the meantime he offered a free Yonac App to compensate.

Insta-buy app! Nice work Yonac

This app is a must have if you play guitar and enjoy creating music on your iOS devices. If you don’t think you need this or don’t think you will use it - just try it. As a guitar player and a keyboard player, this app allows you to get to a level somewhere in between these 2 instruments that you can’t do any other way IMO. Great work Yonac!
