A familiar, cozy MMORPG
I am now at level 21. This is the second MMORPG I’ve ever played on my phone extensively. Here are my thoughts:
Pros:
I like the colorful anime art style. It feels comforting.
The pink blob that guides quests is cute. Although it tends to zigzag to quest points!
A cat pet that grabs loot for you is a nice touch.
You get a horse very early.
As a ranger, the mobs did not feel too difficult. However, if you pull too many mobs, you will die quickly.
The ranger class feels quick and dynamic.
The quests are not too complicated. Although they could use more variety.
You usually get loot at a decent rate.
Most tasks are simple to figure out.
The dungeons have great variety but enemies are more powerful.
The areas look nice.
The controls are decent.
Your character is cute.
Most characters have nice art.
I see other players in the world, but it is not too crowded.
Cons:
The camera can get a bit shaky in tight spaces. This is because it adjusts. Luckily most areas are open spaces.
The areas are somewhat generic so far. I am sure later areas will be more distinct.
The mobs respawn super quickly, and you can’t really sneak past them. Also, too many spawn in one area.
Various enemies look almost identical and are in the same spot. For quests this is annoying, because you have to kill two different types of mobs.
If you are locked on target while on your horse, you’ll keep running in circles.
The auto potion setting does not seem to work.
The touch sensitivity is slightly too high on default. It can be decreased.
I wish the UI icons could be enlarged like the skill buttons.
Character customization is quite limited at the moment. More skin colors, hairstyles, and ear colors should be added.
I would love if we could pick out our pet and horse at the beginning of the game.
The items in the in-game store are expensive.
Quest items seem to have low drop rates.
Only one quest can be tracked at a time.
The optional auto run feature does not dodge obstacles, walls, or use portals. It is much easier to move yourself.
New skills can temporarily disappear from the skill bar. I do not know if I am accidentally hitting the undo button.
Most people in the world chat are not speaking in English.
Armor is gender-locked. At least let us specify loot so that we only get armor we can use. Or let us mail unusable armor and weapons to our other characters.
Overall, this is a straightforward MMORPG to play on your phone/pc. I’d rate it 3.6 out of 5.
