About
RTSP Mixer shows your IP cameras side by side and mixes their sound into one output. It is made for the tablet on the shelf and the phone on the kitchen counter.
THE WALL
Up to nine cameras share the screen in a grid that makes every picture as large as it can be. Tap a tile for full screen, tap again to go back. Every tile shows its connection and how loud it is. If you watch baby monitors in more than one room, the level meter tells you which room the sound came from before you even look. An icon or photo per camera helps you find it.
Fold the controls away when the picture needs the room. Lock the screen against small hands, then slide to unlock.
ONE OUTPUT FOR ALL SOUND
Every camera's audio goes into the same output. Set each volume on its own, mute one camera or all of them. On iPhone and iPad the volume buttons of the device control the shared output.
VIEWS
A view remembers which cameras are on the wall, in which order and in how many columns. Make one for bedtime and one for the garden, and switch from the bar at the bottom. Cameras outside the active view are disconnected, which spares cameras that allow only a few connections.
IT KEEPS ITSELF RUNNING
When a stream stops, the app reconnects on its own and waits a little longer after each failed attempt. After repeated failures the tile turns red and an alert tone sounds. You can switch that tone off for a single camera, so a camera on weak Wi-Fi stays quiet while the others still warn you.
LATENCY OR SMOOTHNESS
With Lowest latency on, every frame appears the moment it arrives. On an unsteady network that can judder. Then switch to buffered playback for a steadier picture with a little more delay.
SOUND IN THE BACKGROUND
Lock the screen or open another app and the sound keeps playing. In that state the app fetches only the audio track, which saves battery and data. A camera can also stay on audio only for good, like a baby monitor you only need to hear.
PICTURE IN PICTURE
Up to four running cameras fit into one floating window while you use other apps.
CAMERA CONTROL
Cameras with a motorized head can be turned from full screen. Hold an arrow to move, let go to stop. Over ONVIF the app also saves and recalls presets and switches night vision, where the camera offers it. Cameras without ONVIF can be moved through your Home Assistant, step by step and with preset recall.
BACKUP AND SYNC
A backup puts all cameras, their passwords and all views into one file, encrypted with a passphrase you choose. iCloud sync is a separate switch and stays off until you turn it on. It keeps cameras, views, your Home Assistant connection and your alarm and control preferences the same on all your devices.
APPLE TV AND MAC
The same app runs on Apple TV, where the wall fills the television and the remote switches views. With iCloud sync your cameras arrive there without typing an address with the remote. On a Mac with Apple silicon it runs as the iPad app.
TRY IT, THEN DECIDE
One camera is free, for as long as you like. Several cameras at once, with the mixed wall and multi-camera Picture in Picture, are free for the first minute after every launch. That is enough to hear whether the mix works with your own cameras. After the minute one camera keeps running, and a single purchase opens the full wall for good. There is no subscription.
YOUR CAMERAS STAY YOURS
Addresses stay on the device and passwords in the keychain. The app talks to your cameras and, if you set them up, to your Home Assistant and to iCloud. There is no account, and nothing is tracked or analyzed.
COMPATIBILITY
RTSP over TCP with H.264 or H.265 video and AAC, G.711 or L16 audio, with Digest or Basic authentication. Templates for eufy, Tenda, Hikvision, Dahua, Reolink and Axis fill in the address, and a second, smaller stream saves bandwidth on a full wall. Any other camera works with its RTSP URL. Allow local network access when iOS asks, or the cameras on your network stay dark.
