The app does offer free access to explore the map and see nearby locations, while advanced filters and detailed data are part of the paid plan. We’ve already expanded the free features recently, but building and maintaining accurate rock, mineral, and location data takes real time and resources. The subscription helps support that work. Totally fair if you prefer heading to the creek with a manual, that’s rockhounding at its best. The app is there as an optional tool for people who want deeper info and planning support.
