Super helpful when you’re self employed
I love the prompts as soon as money hits my account, asking what I want to set aside for taxes and retirement. I like the dashboard showing me my total income, expenses that can be write offs, and taxes owed. It’s like an accountant in my phone, and a good one!

I am a Marriage & Family Therapy Intern who.. started getting paid as a 1099. As a grad student on a budget, I found this app on google. I received so much 1-on-1 support on my first Q1 payment. I couldn't believe I had a zoom call with the owner?! That is so sweet and amazing. I also received info on retirement savings because the owner is very big on empowering women and all her clients! Helps me save more for retirement
I've found that reviewing each invoice and seeing the recommended withholdings for taxes and retirement makes me much more aware of how much money my business is really bringing in, and it helps me save more for retirement. In the past, that was often the bucket that got filled up last.

Must have for freelancers

A huge time saver for solo entrepreneurs
I just started freelancing six months ago and there is so much to learn. So happy I found RubyMoney to help me with at least one part of my business - taxes and retirement.
RubyMoney sets aside money I owe in taxes for me! Before this app I didn’t know anything about S-corp or LLC taxes or how they worked, since I was a full time employee before starting freelancing. RubyMoney made the transition so much smoother for me and completely automated the entire process.

The perfect tax planning partner
If you think tax planning is too complicated, or too expensive, or too stressful, you’ll want to use Ruby. They help you estimate your quarterly taxes, and then PAY THEM FOR YOU. I’m a newer user, but am impressed with their dedication to solving tricky problems for solo entrepreneurs and sole proprietors so that we can spend less (or zero) time thinking about taxes. Co-founders Angie and Evelyn are wonderful to work with and generously make themselves available to their users.

Wish it had more features
I’m not trying to be that person, but the app is a bit laggy. I find myself having to click on things more than two times. Also, I wish there were more options to add additional bank accounts, as someone who has trouble keeping track of all of them it’d be very helpful to get a more accurate picture of my income for the year. Otherwise, I like the fact that the app makes taxes a lot less intimidating! Looking forward to future updates!

Great app for small business owners
I've been using this app to manage my taxes for my small business and have loved it! It is easy to use and they are always so friendly to work with.
Takes the guesswork out of taxes and retirement savings
As a commercial photography my income varies throughout the year so sometimes planning for taxes and retirement is confusing- Ruby money has been great so far in simplifying it so I know what to save and it's there for me when I need to pay quarterly. Highly reccomend!

Easiest way for solo-preneurs to manage taxes / retirement
This year I started my consulting business, Ruby makes the mental tasks of saving for taxes and retirement very easy. Ruby helped me set up my retirement SEP-IRA and keeps me on my toes for paying estimated taxes on time. While there have been minor product kinks, the team is clearly working them out is updates and have been super helpful in making this product work for contractors like me. I just started using Ruby Money, and given the simple nature of my business I’m still evaluating how useful it will be for me. That said, it seems the developers are very focused on making things easier for small businesses/sole proprietors like me. And their responsiveness to questions is outstanding.
