What's New in RunRev

4.0

September 9, 2026

RunRev 4.0 is the biggest update since launch. I've been working on this for a few months and testing it out as much as possible. • Record runs with just your iPhone — full GPS, saved to Apple Health, with a Live Activity on your Lock Screen • Turn any route into a shareable poster, in Post or Story format • Race your past self and watch the gap open or close as you run • Scrub through a cinematic 3D replay of any run • Get a week-by-week training plan for a goal race, built on your device • New Apple Watch app with live metrics relayed to your phone • Rebuilt home screen, all-new run map, and a year-in-runs heat map • Activities tab for walking, cycling, hiking, strength and swimming • Ask Siri what you have to beat at any distance Fixes: runs appear the moment they save, phone and watch no longer fight over the Live Activity, year and month totals agree, paces no longer render a second short.

Another VibeCoded Catastrophe

Tap button to give app access to Health data, so runs will auto populate. That’s the theory. But button just rolls away, doing nothing. Complete waste of time.

Response from developer

Sorry about this experience, and thank you for reporting it. The button should open Apple Health’s permission screen, so it sounds like the authorization flow failed even though the button animation finished. Please check that RunRev has permission to read your workout data in the Apple Health app under Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → RunRev. I’m also improving the error handling to explain what happened instead of silently dismissing it. This will be in version 4.0 which should be out in the next few weeks. No vibecoding here, just human made bugs.
