Absolutely useless

You can’t even see what they want you to pay $10 A MONTH for. No trial, absolutely no preview. Shows three orange dots on the map around me (which as an experienced geologist in my area I know there is MANY more) I knew I’m not paying $10 for something I have no idea if it even shows ANY evidence. I was hoping to add data to this and maybe submit my ACTUAL research and locations. But no. I’ll contact a development team and see if I can just make an app. This is bs for $10 a month and has little to no data 🤣 Google will tell you more. Rockhounding facebook groups will cover WAY more than this app ever wished it could. Will be back with an update from a developer

No free trail

Following the prompts it says it has some areas around me then asks for money. Zero details on those areas, no idea if it’s agates, jaspers, petrified wood, minerals or whatever. No idea if it’s good information or anything. This could be cool if I could try it out for at least a week. If it’s a valuable resource then it would make sense. But at $10 a month, $120 a year even then that’s too expensive. I bet a free trial with $3-$5 a month it would have tons of success. As is this is a fail.

No longer has annual subscription

I downloaded this app with the intent to buy the premium version, as reviews showed a $27 annual price tag. At that price, or even $50/year, I'd gladly buy it!

Imagine my surprise when I download it and am met with a $10/month price. No way to opt out of paying, no free trial, no annual plan alternatives.

$120 a year just isn't worth it for an app that functions the same as other free websites. I never even got the chance to see what sets this app apart from other resources, if you really want people to pay $10 monthly then at least offer a free trial so they can see if they like it. Pure greed unfortunately.

Why would I pay $10 a month for this app when AI can do essentially the same thing for free? There isn’t even a free trial, so I’m expected to pay $10 just to find out whether I like the app or if it’s even worth using? Seriously?

Outrageous

$10 a month. It’s just way too much when you can’t even access it to figure out if it’s worth the money. Where give it better stars if I could at least check it out.

It’s a scam that basically wants to get 10$ from as many people as it can with offering google search level results.

Have to pay

You have to pay to use the app. I wouldn’t mind if it was like a one time fee but it’s a subscription. Sucks that I’ll never know how the app works because I was very interested until it was shoving down to a subscription down my throat.

Too expensive, disappointing.

Not enough value in paying $10/month if you don’t plan on going atleast a few times a month. What would I even be paying for if I didn’t go that month? I’d rather pay per search, than have a monthly bill for a service I may or may not use. Hope they fix the price bc the app is actually a great idea!

Doesn’t work

Download the app. After entering my preferences it gives me a list but then the app just locks up.

Actually Cool—If You Pay

This app actually has a ton of spots, along with photos and information about each one so you know what you can find there. It also tells you whether a location is private or public and if there’s a fee (like at a mine).

I ended up paying the $27/year subscription. The other reviews are accurate—I’m not sure how much you can do during the free trial, and I didn’t exactly get that option. I just clicked subscribe and it was automatically charged without the trial.

Personally, I think it’d be better if they charged something like a one-time $5 fee, or even $27 for lifetime access. I think more people would be willing to buy it that way.

That said, it’s a really cool app with way more content than I expected. It separates popular spots from all spots, includes photos, and even labels some finds as “Rare” or “Very Rare.”

There’s also an option to do a 10–20 minute feedback phone call about the app. I haven’t tried it yet, but it sounds like it would reduce the yearly subscription to only $7—at least, for a single year.

I was honestly impressed. For example, I live in San Diego County, and the app shows 45 popular spots plus 817 total spots. A lot of these aren’t places you’d find on Yelp because they’re not businesses—they’re just interesting locations. That’s pretty awesome to me!

Locked behind a paywall

I can’t make an assessment if the app is going to be valuable to me without dropping money on your subscription. Free trials are easy to implement in the App Store - give me a week free to evaluate.

Why would I pay $10 up front when I don’t know if this app works or provides good information? Give me a free trial or some free features, and then if I want to unlock premium features I will pay.

Useless

Useless. Went to 4 locations. 1 was a cornfield, a construction site in a cornfield and 2 private residences. Never even got out of my truck

Server error. Useless

SCAM app! Makes you pay subscribe to use it then will not allow login or account setup. Just keep getting server error. Absolute scam! Now I have to take all the screenshots and file to have my bank reverse the charge.
