About

Ever wondered if you're really dancing on the beat? Rythmeter tells you. Hold your phone, put on some music and dance. Rythmeter listens to the bass of the music playing around you, finds the beat, and compares it with the movements measured by your phone's accelerometer. When you stop, you get a clear picture of your timing. HOW IT WORKS • Beat detection from the bass: a real-time frequency analysis of the low end (kick drum and bass line) finds the tempo and the exact position of every beat. • Your moves, measured: the accelerometer catches every accent of your body — every "hit" of your dance. • Hit-by-hit comparison: each move is matched with the nearest beat, so you know if you were early, late or right on it. WHAT YOU SEE • A score from 0 to 100 and the song's BPM • Percentage of hits on the beat • Average offset: are you rushing or dragging, and by how many milliseconds? • Consistency: how steady your timing is • A scrollable timeline with the music's beats, your movement and every hit colored green, orange or red • An early/late histogram and your timing across the whole song SMART TOUCHES • Dancing double time? Rythmeter recognizes it and switches to an eighth-note grid. • Calibration: compensate for a fixed offset and instantly re-score your last session. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Everything is analyzed on your device. Audio is never saved and nothing is uploaded: no account, no tracking, no ads. Tip: play music loud, with a strong bass line, and hold your phone firmly while you mark the beat.
