About

S-Vibe measures and analyzes floor and structure vibration with your iPhone's accelerometer and gyroscope. It is made for quick on-site checks, teaching and research in building, structural and noise-and-vibration work. MEASURE WITH ONE TAP Place the phone flat and tap "Start". Sensor settling, orientation correction, measurement, analysis and saving all happen automatically. If the phone is touched or moved during a measurement, that stretch is flagged, and broken stretches are never stitched together. WHAT YOU GET • RMS, peak and dominant frequency for vertical (Z) and horizontal (X, Y) • Frequency-domain vibration levels and peak frequencies • 1/3-octave band analysis and comparison with ISO 10137-family reference curves • Time waveform with flagged impact stretches • Quality notes: measured sample rate, valid-data fraction, orientation changes NAME AND COMPARE Give each measurement a name and notes ("3F corridor center", "Auditorium"). Pick 2-4 records in History to overlay frequency levels, 1/3-octave bands and RMS ratios on one screen. If sample rates or lengths differ, the app tells you what to watch out for. PROFESSIONAL SIGNAL ANALYSIS • Select a time range, exclude impacts • Butterworth filter chain (low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, band-stop, notch; up to 3 stages), zero-phase forward-backward filtering • See each filter's -3 dB points and frequency response • Compare raw vs. filtered, and range A vs. B • Save the analysis recipe (including the SHA-256 hash of the raw data) to reproduce the same result later • Export CSV, JSON and PDF DETAILED EVALUATION (REFERENCE ONLY) View curves and tables from AISC Design Guide 11, CRSI, AIJ and DIN 4150 together with the source and limits of every value through evidence buttons. The app gives no pass/fail verdict and no safety judgment. YOUR DATA STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE No account is needed. Measurement data is stored only on this device, never uploaded, with no ads or tracking. Location is used only to save coordinates with a record, and measuring works without it. PLEASE NOTE • Phone sensors are less precise than dedicated instruments. Results are for reference and vary with conditions. • The author is not responsible for judgments about structural safety, serviceability or code compliance, or their consequences. Verify important decisions with qualified professionals and verified equipment. • The validated analysis band is 1-40 Hz (at 100 Hz sampling). Made and distributed free by Dr. Seokjae Heo.
