About
SAFE-Triage Lite is a bilingual (English / Arabic) educational, synthetic-demo prototype of an emergency-department triage decision-support workflow. It runs offline on iPhone and iPad, with no patient data sent to the developer.
This app is intended for clinicians, healthcare students, thesis reviewers, and hospital leadership who want to inspect a rules-first triage workflow using synthetic cases. It is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, or replace clinical judgement. Every suggested level requires clinician confirmation inside the demo.
How the prototype works:
- A user selects a synthetic preset or enters synthetic complaint and vital-sign values.
- A local deterministic engine based on ESI v5 and NEWS2 suggests a triage level from 1 to 5.
- The user confirms the suggestion or records an override with a written reason.
- Conservative safety-rule banners and a paediatric NEWS2 caveat are displayed when applicable.
Included synthetic demonstrations cover chest pain, low oxygen saturation, paediatric fever, a minor wound, and confusion in an older adult. The interface includes English and Arabic modes.
The app does not provide diagnosis, operate as autonomous triage, claim medical-device approval, handle real protected health information, use push notifications, or use camera, microphone, or location access. Do not enter real patient data. For patient care, follow local clinical governance and hospital protocols.
