What's New in SafeExamBrowser

3.7.1

September 9, 2026

- Fetch & embed server certificates by URL: in Settings › Network › Certificates you can fetch a server's certificate over HTTPS and embed it (verify its SHA-256 fingerprint before embedding). - "Allow iOS screen capture" setting to control screen recording / AirPlay / cable mirroring during an exam has now a new, iOS-specific key allowScreenCaptureiOS. - You can now enter a custom browser User Agent string (and suffix) directly in the iOS Settings. - In-page text search now also finds text inside iFrames, and no longer clears text you typed into open-answer fields. Now it also shows the number of found search text occurrences. - Support for running on the latest iOS version. - iCloud Documents capability caused AAC to deactivate with a specific MDM restriction: Removed the iCloud Documents capability, as it's no longer necessary for files from iCloud drive being automatically downloaded when opening them in SEB. - Fixed: User Agent string with trailing space caused web app error. - Added Compatibility for Passwords Containing Accented Characters. - Fixed: SEB-JSON floating point serialization differs between Windows and macOS/iOS, which could lead to a different Config Key. - Allowed SEB Versions: exams can now require specific SEB versions. If your version isn't allowed, SEB explains the requirement and offers to update via the App Store. - Various stability and reliability improvements. Optional features which need to be individually configured and are disabled by default: - Screen Proctoring: if connecting to the proctoring service fails, SEB now shows an error and lets you retry. - Fixed some more random crashes when using screen proctoring.

These methods allow for individual settings and easy deployment, especially when used with Mobile Device Management (MDM) systems.
