About

Find new bike routes and get turn-by-turn voice navigation. No account. No ads. Works offline. Safeish plans bike routes in Washington, Oregon and California around the roads you’re comfortable riding. It packs OpenStreetMap’s roads and trails, plus state transportation agencies’ speed limits, traffic counts and shoulder widths, into your iPhone. Routing and navigation run 100% on your device. Safeish is designed to help you understand the challenges of a route, and whether it’s one you want to ride. Safeish uses imperfect data and can’t keep you safe. Always be aware of your surroundings and trust your own judgement. PLAN • A few routes for every trip: Suggested, plus others such as the shortest, the flattest, or the one with the most trails and bike lanes. • Each route shows its distance, time, climb and what it’s made of: trails, bike lanes, ordinary roads, cautions, and anything that fails your rules. • Tap any road to see why it rates the way it does, with the numbers behind it: traffic count, speed limit, lanes and shoulder width. Open Street View to check it yourself. • Add stops, keep routes off a road you’d rather skip, stick to a signed bike route, or ask for a random loop from 1 to 200 miles. RIDE & NAVIGATE • Turn-by-turn voice navigation that also tells you when the road ahead changes: onto a trail or bike lane, into a caution, or onto a road that fails your rules. • Apple Watch support puts the map on your wrist and cues each turn with voice and haptic feedback. • Rides you record on Apple Watch are saved to Apple Health as cycling workouts. YOUR RIDING STYLE Pick the profile that fits how you ride: • The Randonneur: for long-distance rides and the most route choice, with looser limits on traffic and speed. • Weekend Wanderer: for everyday rides on slower roads. Where a route has to compromise, it shows as a caution. • Casual Cruiser: for relaxed, low-stress riding. Only routes that fully meet its rules are shown. Each profile can be customized.
