Each incident counted once. Some police departments publish a separate record for every offense in a single incident. Reports now group those records, so the count beside an address is a count of incidents. Categories from the department's own codes. The violent / property / other breakdown is read from the offense codes the department publishes, and each report states how that department defines a violent crime — the definitions differ, and some departments don't publish every offense type. Locations only where a location was published. Some departments withhold the location of certain reports. SafeNest leaves those records off the map rather than placing them at a placeholder point. Plainer wording when street-level data isn't published. Where a department doesn't publish incident records, the report now says so in that department's terms instead of a generic line.
