NEW — Optional alerts, off by default: a quiet heads-up if you walk into a block where reported incidents run well above the local average, and (in San Francisco and New Orleans) an occasional background check for serious 911 calls within a few blocks. Everything runs on your phone — your location is never sent to our servers. Every safety count now states its time window (for example "7 months to Aug 2026"), because data spans differ by city.
