App works well but offers are irrelevant
Tablet version of the app is great. Phone version I gave up on months ago.
Now if only the personalized offers on it were for items I actually want and use! Optimum program is way better.
Is Safeway planning to abandon the Scene program? I remember when it abandoned Airmiles the same thing happened — personalized offers became fewer and irrelevant.

Blank notifications? What’s the point?
Still freaking hasn't been fixed yet. I'm receiving notifications, when I click on them. The app shows a blank screen. So stupid.
Stupid how Safeway sends a notification, but when you actually click on it, the app opens to a completely blank screen. No offer, no message, nothing. What’s the point of sending notifications if the app can’t even show the content? Fix your app — notifications should actually lead somewhere. All the time too.

Have earned almost no points
Just learning now that the $10 I think I managed to rack up twice in years was because it happened to fluke on loading offers. I’ve missed out on a lot of points with scene card shopping at Safeway. Scanned every time I shopped for next to no rewards
Slow to open. Good for offers but little else
Why is it so slow to open the app each time. First you get the Safeway loading add and then another loading page before you get to the home page.
I like the scene offers page but otherwise the app is pointless as this is not an online ordering app (that’s voila) and the search/favourite features are pretty basic and kinda pointless

Terrible App
App never works. In store function is useless as store wifi is terrible and cellular service doesn’t work.

App doesn’t open now. Tried to remove and reinstall. Still wont open. Any ideas
Hard to get into
I like security. I really do. But can we agree that if an app is so secure that I can’t get into my own account, it’s gone too far? I forgot, as sometimes happens on busy days, to update my offers at home on my iPad (on which it works fine). Any other shopping app I could just open on my phone while I’m on my way. With this app, it won’t let me in by any means. I either have to waste time on a busy day to return home to update my offers on my iPad or forego the deals and savings. Please fix this!

Useless Updates
Again, another app that fails once an update is done. Suddenly now, I can’t get into the NHL game. Both this and the Sobey’s app go to a Scene “add card” page that does nothing. My number appears, but can’t escape this page to do anything.

Not working
I try to click and open up the app and it will not open.
Missing the highlight / circle on the flyer
While in the app, when I’m going through the flyer, I tape on the item and it puts a yellow “circle” around it as well as adding the list. Love the highlight because it’s easy to scroll through and quickly see what I’m looking for. When it’s added to the list it has the item but not the price or Scene points offer (if there is one). In middle of my shop, opened app to look at the flyer and it’s requiring me to update. I can’t use the app unless I update. I’m in a rush, the store is in area where coverage is spotty, store closes in 20 minutes and without my list I don’t know what to get. So by time it is finished I’m a lot frustrated. Open the app and there are no highlights on the flyer. Go to list, click on item, does not go back to flyer. If someone from the Safeway app team happens to read this - Please please bring back the highlight feature. It set Safeway apart and was best part of the app.

I’ve bought from Safeway for a long time now workers are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Prices are fair and you can have it delivered to your door.
New app not an improvement
I really liked the Shopping List of the previous version. The new version is not as good and requires extra steps.
Also more difficult to find my Scene Card to scan. Sometimes it is there and sometimes I have to delve deeper into the app to find it.

The last two updates have ruined the app. It’s useless. I won’t be shopping at Safeway anymore. Well done.
Scene card access now buries
It used to be easy to open up your Scene+ card for the teller to scan, but now it’s inconveniently buried under your account name - 4 taps later.
