Unstable on iPhone 17 Pro Max
Playing on an iPhone 17 Pro Max. Crashes after boss battle with Platyhooks. Completely unplayable.
Dream come true
One of my all time favorite games has come back to life. Controller support works great and so does the game! Port done right!
Bugs
Doors don’t open during Rescue mission at beginning of game and commands don’t react correctly on the touch screen.
To game or not to game
It’s automatic battle what’s the point if it’s not challenging
Great game no sound at all
Love the game however, the sound doesn’t work for my iPhone. Boo
It has the completeness the original lacked
Sure, a port lacks a little of the playability of playing it not on a phone; but this version is complete. It doesn’t have the shortcomings I’ve seen in previous Square Enix ports, the remaster and added content are huge improvements to the original game, and it’s overall worth more than the price. Definitely worth buying for nostalgia or first time players.

Please add controller support
One of my all time favorite games, controller support would be great.
Great
Great Everything I Expected From A Saga Game The Added In Content Is Well Worth It
Goose chase
Lots and lots of looking for random rooms and crap, stupid plot, total time waster. Don’t bother.
Thank you
I miss playing this game
So great
Amazing game, please enable install on ARM Mac computers!!! This would looks so great on them!
Ports well
I’ve been waiting for a rerelease of this game for so long. Every time ffvii came out on a new platform I said where’s Saga Frontier. Works well on mobile no aiming like GTA even ff tactics was hard to rotate the screen on mobile but this one never had any of that. The updated menus/ UI aren’t perfect but they’re fine.
One issue is when healing characters and your mage is in the last slot it can be hard to select who you want to heal and if misclicked could start the round. May be more of an issue with a large monster in your group standing in the way and I’ve not found a way to click around them. Can be an issue selecting enemies too but not horrible.
The cool thing about this game was the different character types humans, monsters, mechs and mystics. Each have their own ways to upgrade and operate. I had a 50 page printout of monster abilities. They could become almost any monster in the game. You could appreciate mystics and mechs in the same way.
Stop by a certain bar on a certain planet to bulk up your roster quick. Go to a certain tomb for some easy to get mid level gear and we’re back in business.

Better than the original.
I don’t normally write reviews, but this has been one of my favorite games since I was a kid and owned it on PlayStation 1. The remaster makes the graphics look better, there are bonuses to completing each character story line with new game +, AND they added fuses story (which I’d recommend saving for last). If you liked the original or are a fan of the series and have never played this game - it’s worth every penny… I hope they continue to remake the classics like this. How about vagrant story next? Or radiata stories? :)

NANI ???
Played this as a kid and never could finish the game, now it shows up available on my phone to mock me again... Haha not this time. This time we play for everything.... one last time!...
Also buy the game it’s good.

Terrible
Not what you’d expect of a Square Enix game.
The combat is boring and horrifically balanced. The characters ‘transform’ into these really cheesy hero’s that have mediocre powers, just so you can kill a single enemy. I don’t expect enemies at the start able to one hit your character and cause an instant game over, but apparently they thought that would be fun. Story is awful’ characters are lame... avoid and don’t waste good money like I did. Go and get FF8 instead as it’s actually a decent game unlike this trash.

I supported square
Yeah I could have just downloaded and played on emulator cause honestly I prefer older graphic look but screw it I bought and hopefully I beat it. This game is worth i suppose for my phone on to go grinding levels and not just a dumb Gacha game grind!!!
