Fantastic

I've finally found a genre of game that delivers all the interesting bits- taking decisions with consequences for the story and the chatacters- without all the grind of kill-monster-get-treasure-craft-a-new-sword.

It's simple. The story progresses along, and you make all the decisions. The stats bar at the side tracks how your tribe trust you, how charming and how ruthless you are, which gods favour you, and so on.

I stayed up late to play more, because I wanted to know what happened next. I haven't done that in years. It's like they have distilled down the essence of all the interesting choices and moral dilemmas and removed all the boring bits, so you get through an entire saga without all the grind. If that sounds good to you, buy the game. Highly recommended.

Really Excellent!

I just finished my first play through of this game, and I truly enjoyed the experience. The writing is great, which isn't something you can say about every CYOA game. My only complaint is that the stats (and what affects them) feel really obfuscated.

A Great Story!

Captivating from start to finish, and with lots of replay value!

Totally worth it

Could not stop playing this game. So in depth and addicting, I highly recommend it

Interesting

I appreciate the intricacies and length of the game. The fact that one has to really think about their choices isn't found in a lot of COG apps. Not sure if I like the mechanic where the stats of the advisors affect which suggestion they'll give you; kinda messes with the way I view their character. Also a bit disappointed in the romantic gameplay; I wish there was more to it.

Lots of Replay Value

Worth the money! It's a bit pricey, but this is my favorite Choice Of game. There are so many storylines to explore, and the ending will definitely get you wanting to play again!

Worth the Pay

I play all of the Choice of Games interactive novels, and this one is awesome!

Exceptional

This is exactly what these types of games should be. I replayed this and it was still good. There are certain channelized paths, but this in no way seemed to diminish the replay value. I recommend this without reservation. The one thing I wish for this and other games of this type is that the character could be carried forward into another adventure, even if it were in another timeframe.

An Excellent Journey

This is one of the Choice Of games that I really feel like I'll be playing again and again to see all the different endings and stories. Loved every bit of it.

Mr.

I really love this game! I would give five thousand plus stars if I had the choice. I so love games from Choice Of Games so much that, even in my sleep, part of my dreams are about what would happen in the next game! So thanks for bringing Choice of Games to us!!!!!!!!!!:-)

Great

Overall, This is an excellent game whose setting reminds me of the Hyborian age. The writing and plotting are very good. One slight problem I had with the mechanics was that it seemed that maintaining a high dominance stat required my character taking obviously foolish actions. Nevertheless, I strongly recomend this game.

Meh

I own pretty much all their games and although decent, there are much better ones out there for the cost. The story is very much the same no matter how you play with maybe a couple paragraph changes. I've personally played through 14 times to try and achieve the reincarnation ending but have only received the lesser ending all 14 times. Overall it's well written and fun to play a time or two but not one I feel you can keep returning to time and again.

Awesome

Devoted at least a few hours to it so far, only found one or two paths, almost completely divergent from each other. New experience each time, definitely worth it.

Worth every cent.

I've always loved the "Choice of games" for as long as I can remember having an iPhone. This story is no different. This is the first review I've made for these games if I can recall and I can say that I am once again, completely satisfied with yet another title of their games (Saga of the North Wind). I would HIGHLY recommend giving it a chance and try the other ones too. These guys are definitely one of my favorite developers of all time for iOS games. Very immersive and entertaining story. Don't forget to check out their other works too!!

Wow

Just started it and it's phenomenal!

Keep up the good work.

Good game

Feels like one of those epic fantasy pen and paper rpg modules from days past. Good writing. Definitely worth giving it a try.

A tale to rival the legends!

I've been waiting a long time for a high-fantasy Choice of Games like this one, and I'm glad to say it has taken its place among the greatest games of its kind. I've always been a lover of fantasy, and this one blends both adventure and mystery (and excellent writing) to create a story that gripped me from beginning to end. The adventures and exploits of your hero and their companions combines with the story of your tribe of brave wanderers, and I found myself caring as much about the fate of my Tribe of the White Stag as about the young chieftain who led them - and in the end, I like to think I led them well. What seemed at first like a straightforward journey (though not without hardships) developed unexpected twists along the way, and I'm intrigued to see what might have turned out differently had I chosen different paths. One thing I'd have liked to see is more opportunities to interact with my companions outside of crisis moments, and deepen my friendships/rivalries with them. Also a few of the names seem to be lifted directly from other works of fiction - among them the gods Perun, Svarog, Veles and Chernobog (named after runestones from The Witcher 3, I believe), a place named Coldharbour (a realm of Oblivion from The Elder Scrolls) and a man named Beren (a hero from The Silmarillion). But those are small quibbles, and in the end, I am happy with the way the tale turned out, and I would love to see other stories set in this intriguing fantasy world, perhaps exploring some of the lands we passed through or heard tell of on our way to the Valley of the North Wind. But for now, if you're a lover of mythology or ancient history or just a fan of good old Tolkien, go ahead and start your own journey through this epic story. You won't regret it.

Definitely worth the money

An incredibly engaging story, I am so happy I bought this game. My only major critique is that I wish a couple of the characters were a little more fleshed out. However the adventure itself feels like a true epic, and more than makes up for any tiny shortcomings. I can't wait to play it again!

An interesting story

although i have not finished it yet...
