What’s New in SailsSearch 1.7 SailsSearch 1.7 introduces our biggest navigation update yet: the new Route Builder. Route Builder Create complete sailing itineraries directly on the map. Add waypoints, anchorages, marinas and other useful stops, then organize your route into sailing days. Each stop can have a name, notes and a type such as anchorage, marina, mooring, fuel, water, dive site, beach, restaurant or landmark. Routes automatically show distance and estimated sailing time based on your cruising speed. You can also mark overnight stops and see distance and sailing time for each individual day. Places and navigation Display anchorages, marinas and other places from the SailsSearch places library as well as OpenStreetMap seamarks. Search for ports, bays and marinas by name, jump directly to them on the map and add them to your route. Found a useful place that is missing? Suggest it to the SailsSearch community. New places are reviewed before becoming public. Import, export and sharing Import existing routes from GPX or KML files. Export your own routes for use in other navigation tools. Routes can be private, unlisted or public. Share an unlisted or public route using a direct link. Choose a generated map as the route cover or upload your own photo and gallery. Your saved routes are now available from your profile under My Routes. Routes and activities The Create screen now lets you create either an Activity or a Route. You can attach a route to a sailing activity. When you do, the activity automatically uses the route's start and finish points and estimates the arrival date from the planned route duration. Guests can see the complete multi-stop itinerary directly on the activity page. You can also choose which activity photo is used as the cover and reorder gallery photos. Discover sailing routes The Find section now includes a Trips / Routes switch. Browse public routes shared by other captains, view their itineraries and discover trips available on those routes. You can also reuse a public route as the starting point for your own activity. Routes and places now support comments, allowing captains and sailors to share local knowledge and useful tips. Comments are moderated before publication. Better offline support SailsSearch can now open using saved data when no internet connection is available, as long as your existing session remains valid. A No Connection banner lets you know when the app is offline, and the app automatically reconnects when the network returns. Chat and reliability improvements Chat now handles background operation more reliably, especially on newer Android versions. The connection pauses when required and synchronizes missed messages after you return. We also fixed a reconnect issue that could prevent chat from recovering after network interruptions. Additional fixes include: • Double login attempts on the login screen • Captain reviews sometimes failing to load • Clearer validation messages when creating activities • Improved in-app notifications and feedback
