SalvaGrandine: Hail Shelters

When hail starts falling you have minutes to get your car under a roof. SalvaGrandine is the hail shelter map: covered car parks, fuel station canopies and car washes near you, with turn-by-turn navigation two taps away. And when the radar shows hail is likely around your town, you get a notification. HOW IT WORKS • Open the app: the map is already centered on you, shelters all around. • Tap a shelter to see the type, how many cars fit and whether it is open 24h. • Tap Navigate: turn-by-turn starts right away in your phone's map app. • Prefer a list? One tap shows the closest shelters, sorted by distance. From launch to navigation: two taps. HAIL ALERTS • Pick the town you want to watch. • The Protezione Civile radar is checked every 5 minutes. • When hail is likely nearby, you get a notification and the map shows you where. • Alerts cover Italian towns (the radar covers Italy); the shelter map works anywhere. No vague forecasts: the alert fires when hail is likely in the area, so you know where to go right away. A MAP BUILT BY THE COMMUNITY • Thousands of shelters already on the map across Italy, from public data. • Know a canopy or a covered car park? Add it in under two minutes. • Community reports remove shelters that no longer exist. • Sign your shelters with a nickname if you like: no account, no registration.
