About
Samadhi is a quiet meditation companion built on the Theravada Buddhist tradition.
Every morning, a single line of contemplation — drawn from the Dhammapada, the suttas, or recognized Theravada teachers like Ajahn Chah — meets you on the Practice tab. Read it, then sit. The card rotates deterministically by date, so every practitioner around the world reads the same verse on the same day.
THE PATH (Pa Auk-aligned)
Walk a traditional progression at your own pace:
• Anapanasati (mindful breathing)
• Metta (loving-kindness)
• Kayanupassana (body mindfulness)
• Vipassana (insight)
• Kasina (concentration objects)
• Jhana (deep absorption)
• Upekkha (equanimity)
Each stage names its living teachers — Pa-Auk Sayadaw, Sharon Salzberg, Mahasi Sayadaw, Bhante Henepola Gunaratana, Ajahn Brahm, and others — alongside curated reading from the canon.
DHAMMA TAB
Watch hand-curated YouTube playlists from Sama Meditation & Stories: Buddha's Dhamma, Buddha's Stories, Meditate in 10, Meditate in 20.
Read excerpts from When Laozi Met the Buddha — 36 lessons on peace, purpose, and letting go — with one-tap links to Apple Books, Google Play Books, and Amazon Kindle.
DANA-SUPPORTED
No ads. No paywalls. No subscriptions hiding the path. Optional one-time donations (Tea, Incense, Retreat) and a recurring Monthly Supporter tier let practitioners who benefit give back — just as the Dhamma has always been freely given.
PRIVACY
Your sessions, streak, and reflections live on your device. No analytics. No tracking. No accounts. Your practice is yours.
LANGUAGES
English, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese.
iPad: optimized layout with side-by-side Progress view and 2-column Dhamma grid.
PRACTICE NOT METRICS
Streaks live quietly on the Progress tab. Milestones celebrate steps along the Path, not raw session counts. The post-sit moment is silent — no dopamine hits, no badges popping.
Samadhi exists to help a practitioner sit, not to help an app retain a user.
