About

SARCOM is incident command, team management, and mission planning for Search & Rescue — in one app. Built for organized SAR teams, it runs the whole search: from the first callout, through deployment and coordination, to the final debrief. WHERE ARE MY RESPONDERS, AND WHAT'S BEEN SEARCHED? That's the question SARCOM answers. Responders check in and deploy from their phone. Their location and track stream to Incident Command in real time — so command can see who is where, keep them safe, and know which ground has been covered and which hasn't. Tracking keeps running with the screen off while a responder is deployed, and stops the moment they end it. FOR INCIDENT COMMAND - Live map of deployed responders and their search tracks - CalTopo integration — set the Initial Planning Point (IPP) and Last Known Point (LKP) and push them to your map - ICS forms built in: 201, 202, 203, 204, 211, and a running 214 activity log - Export any ICS form to PDF for your incident file - AI-assisted drafting to turn field notes into clean, structured form entries - Approve responders into the incident and delegate command roles - Weather alerts for the incident area FOR THE TEAM - Roster, member profiles, and command qualifications - Credential and training tracking with expiration reminders — know who's current before you deploy them - Availability and on-call scheduling - Documents, resources, and a team address book - Reports and analytics on participation and readiness FOR RESPONDERS - One-tap check-in and deploy - Capture field observations and photos from the search - Google and Apple sign-in WHO IT'S FOR SARCOM is built for organized Search & Rescue teams and their members — not a consumer tracking app. An account is required. Individuals can join free; team features are available to SAR teams. Knowing where your people are and what they've searched isn't a nice-to-have in the field. It's the difference between a coordinated search and a guess. SARCOM puts it in one place. A Black Canopy Solutions product.

The incident workspace has been rebuilt around how a callout actually runs. Command screens are now grouped into Command, Operations and Planning, so what you need is where you'd go looking for it. ASSIGNMENTS (ICS 204) Build assignments in a draft queue, assign them to teams, and hand each team its own assignment page. The operational period now prints on the PDF. OPERATIONAL PERIODS Set an OP length and the clock starts on your first page-out. Each period gets its own dated CalTopo folder — rolling to the next period drops the last one's work off the live map and carries your search segments forward. SUBJECTS AND SEARCH URGENCY Incidents now carry multiple subjects, each with an expanded lost-person questionnaire. The relative search urgency rating scores across all seven categories as you fill it in, with weather factored in automatically. Cell-ping locations drop as map markers per subject. PAGING AND MUTUAL AID Page any team's dispatch by SMS and email, with an editable preview before it fires and a priority on the page. Teams running Active911 can have pages delivered into their existing alert flow. Mutual-aid requests now notify the requested team's dispatch directly. FIELD MESSAGING FROM OUTSIDE CELL COVERAGE Register a Garmin inReach, SPOT, Zoleo or satellite phone, and messages you send from the field land in the op log — attributed to you and routed to the incident you're checked into. COMMS Your team keeps a standing channel list that pre-fills the incident's ICS 205 comms plan, so nobody is retyping a frequency at 0200. ON THE INCIDENT • Open incident chat for everyone on the callout — ETAs, parking, trailhead chatter — kept separate from the op log so the record stays clean • Responder status at a glance: who's responding, staging, in the field • Critical alerts now banner across every command screen • Logistics board, feeding the ICS 215 • Briefing and SitRep forms • Autofill every ICS form from the incident in one action • Closing an incident archives the ICS packet PDF into your team's documents K9 HRD training logs capture per-hide detail and export to PDF. Deployment PDFs now include the assigned-area map. ALSO Events display and email in your team's timezone. Avatars and cover photos can be cropped and repositioned on upload. FIXED • PDF and CSV exports now save properly on iPhone. ICS packets, individual forms, K9 records, AI drafts and reports open in the share sheet, so you can save them to Files, mail them, or AirDrop them to an agency rep. • Links to your own incidents and events stay in the app instead of kicking you out to Safari • Less background network use during an active tracking session, for battery life in the field
