Gone from non commercial to so many ads it’s unwatchable
Terrible how they ruined this sbs. sometimes now it will play a series of ads say there’s only a certain amount remaining and then play another series. I’ve taken the finding other ways to watch shows that are on SBS because they’ve ruined it with the ads.

As always SBS On Demand supplies a great selection of local and international films, tv series and movies. Both old and new. The app is great to use and there is always something great to watch. And with streaming services charging more it’s great to have SBS on Demand.

No longer working on 5th generation iPad
Update: very prompt response from SBS confirming iOS17 or above required to open the app. A simple workaround was given to login through their website. Happy again and very appreciative of the support.
Just stopped midway through binge set with error Sbs apiclient errordomain error 10003. After many tries to restart device and app I noticed that IOS 17 is now the minimum required. The latest for 5th generation iPad is 16.7.16.
Great app (best of all the free-to-air channels) but now useless.

You get 3/4 thru the show and it stops and starts from the beginning again!
Nostalgia combo
So enjoyed access to classic sitcoms mixed with movies and world news. Never need to forage far to find an absolute delight. Northern exposure back in the day not sure I managed to watch the entire series till now. Loved every moment reliving this one.
App constantly crashing
Constantly experiencing playback “errors”, have to delete and reinstall the app. So annoying!
Edit: received a reply from the dev asking me to tell them the exact wording of the error message - the next time it happens I will, because of course I don’t remember it off the top of my head

Options are endless
I have watched SBS for so long it just keeps getting better . With all the streaming platforms that charge the world, and include ads unless you pay for ad free now, it’s ridiculous . This is free and brings the best of everything. Love this platform always!
Buggy app but great content
They just can’t seem to get the app right. Fantastic content - but the app has been buggy for years! :( Too many ads too, but I still come back because the content is excellent. Solid local Aus drama content and intelligent docos etc and heaps more.
Watching a movie should be easy
The app freezes way too often. Especially if you have it minimized into the small screen. You have to close the app down and reopen but you then have to watch another advert. Sometimes when reopening the app and selecting resume on the movie you’re watching it takes you right back to the start of the movie. Very frustrating.

Too many ads
It is so frustrating to have to watch ads when you start watching a program/film when you are just browsing. It takes forever to browse. Ads should be after a reasonable period of time and NOT right at the start.

Poor UI/X
We love SBS CONTENT. The app and user experience is underwhelming and due to the adverts, going back means repetitive adverts.
