About
ScanFold turns a LiDAR iPhone into a 3D scanner that keeps everything on the phone.
Walk a room. Watch the surfaces fill in live. Finish, and you have a 3D mesh you can spin, stand inside at 1:1, measure against a scale bar, and export.
MAP-FIRST LIBRARY
Every scan is pinned where you made it. Switch the library to Map and your captures become pins — tap one to reopen the space. Location is optional; scanning works fine without it.
ON DEVICE, START TO FINISH
Capture, fusion, meshing, labelling and export all run on the phone. There is no account, no server and no upload step. Your scans do not leave the device unless you share them.
SEMANTIC LABELS
Room geometry is labelled — wall, floor, ceiling, window, door — alongside recognised objects like beds, sofas, chairs, storage, televisions and appliances. Hide the furniture to get the bare shell. Long-press a single object to lift it out on its own.
PEOPLE STAY OUT OF THE SCAN
People are masked out live, so someone walking through your capture does not end up frozen into the mesh.
EXPORTS, NOT HOSTAGE
USDZ, GLB, PLY and OBJ, all free, straight out of the share sheet. Labels travel with the file: a label property in PLY, groups per class in OBJ, a label accessor in GLB. Open a USDZ in Quick Look to place it in AR, or take the OBJ into Blender.
COVERAGE YOU CAN SEE
Under-observed surfaces glow amber while you scan and settle to natural colour as you sweep them, so you know what you have actually captured before you walk away.
ACCURACY, HONESTLY
iPhone LiDAR is good to a couple of centimetres up close and roughly 10–20 cm across a whole building; a GPS pin is accurate to a few metres. ScanFold is built for documentation and communication, not for survey-grade measurement, and it will not pretend otherwise.
REQUIREMENTS
Live 3D reconstruction needs a LiDAR iPhone (12 Pro or later Pro and Pro Max models). iOS 18 or later. On non-LiDAR iPhones, ScanFold records keyframes but cannot build a mesh.
