What does Scannr do?

Scannr allows you to quickly extract information from US and Canadian driver's licenses using your iPhone's camera. It deciphers the barcode on the back of the license to provide human-readable data. The app also includes a 'bouncer mode' for age verification and can detect expired licenses.

How does the bouncer mode work?

Bouncer mode allows you to set a specific age limit. When a driver's license is scanned, the app will indicate if the person is above or below the set age limit by changing the background color. Green indicates the person is above the age limit, while red indicates they are not.

Is Scannr free to use?

You can download Scannr for free and perform a limited number of scans. If you require unlimited scanning capabilities, there is an option to purchase a license for a specific time period. Older versions also offered an 'unlimited scans forever' license which can be recovered in the app's settings.

What data is stored by Scannr?

By default, only aggregated gender and age data are stored. All other scanned information is ignored. The scanned data remains on your mobile phone unless you configure Scannr to send it to a custom URL for integration into your own system.
