Response from developer
I'm really sorry Scenarist got in the way of your writing — that's the opposite of what it's for, and thank you for telling me exactly what happened. You found a real bug. On the on-screen keyboard, Return was adding a line break inside the current block instead of starting the next one, so dialogue ended up inside the character block. On top of that, the element buttons above the keyboard added a new block instead of fixing the current one, which made it feel like there was no way out. The latest update fixes all of it: • Return now moves you to the next element (Character → Dialogue → Character) like it should • The element buttons above the keyboard change the block you're in • With a keyboard attached, ⌘1–⌘6 set the element type and Tab cycles it If part of your show still has dialogue stuck inside character blocks, email me at support@scenaristapp.com and I'll help you sort it out. I'd love for you to give it another try. — Nik, Scenarist developer
