About

Scioperi Oggi is not a government app: it is an independent app and does not represent the Ministry or any government body. Official sources: the strike list of the Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, https://scioperi.mit.gov.it/mit2/public/scioperi, and the public-sector strike dashboard (schools), https://crusc-gepas.perlapa.gov.it. Is there a train strike in Italy today? Scioperi Oggi tells you right away, for the region you are in: trains, buses, metro and trams, flights, ferries, taxis and general strikes. Traveling in Italy or living there? Open the app and read the answer: "Today: no strikes affecting transport in Lombardia" or "Train strike tomorrow", with hours, scope (national, regional, local) and guaranteed services. The app is in English; the Ministry's official notes stay in Italian. FROM THE MINISTRY'S PUBLIC LIST • Strikes come from the Ministry's public list (scioperi.mit.gov.it), updated daily. Data under the CC BY 3.0 IT license, adapted by Sillapps. • Every answer shows the source, the list date and a link to the Ministry's page. • If the list is out of date or can't be downloaded, the app says so: it never makes up a "no strikes". • Notes from the list included: canceled strikes, virtual strikes, excluded sectors. TODAY, TOMORROW, 7 DAYS • Strikes today, tomorrow, in the next 7 days and the full calendar of scheduled strikes in Italy. • "Happening now", "Starts at 8:00": you know at once if it affects you. • General strikes: when the official list gives hours per sector, you see the train hours right away ("Trains 11:00–14:00"). FILTER BY SECTOR, AREA AND COMPANY • Pick a region (or all of Italy) and optionally a province: national and regional strikes are always included. • Filter by sector: trains, bus and metro, flights, ferries and ports, taxi and NCC, general strikes, freight. • Optional: for local strikes in a region, follow only the transport companies you use. GUARANTEED SERVICES • Regional trains: guaranteed bands 6–9 and 18–21 on weekdays. • Flights: flights scheduled 7–10 and 18–21 are guaranteed. • Buses, metro and trams: the usual bands of 14 local companies (Milan, Rome, Turin, Naples, Genoa, Bologna, Venice…), with a link to the source. Elsewhere, check with your operator. SCHOOLS • A separate line with national school strikes, from the public-sector strike dashboard (GEPAS). Turnout varies from school to school. SCIOPERI OGGI PRO (one-time payment, no subscription) • An alert the evening before each strike in your area, at the time you choose. • An alert when a new strike is announced for your area, or when one leaves the list (likely called off), as soon as iOS lets the app refresh. • Choose which sectors notify you. • Home screen widget: today and your next strike. • Several areas at once: home, work, the city you are visiting. • No ads. • Try alerts and widget free for 14 days, no account, no payment. SHARE • One tap to send the answer to your travel companions on WhatsApp, or to add a strike to your calendar. PRIVACY No account, no sign-up. Your areas and preferences stay on your iPhone. The free version shows a single ad banner, never on the first day. QUICK ANSWERS • Train strike in Italy tomorrow? Bus and metro strike in Rome or Milan this week? A general strike this month? Open the app: the answer is on the first screen. • Strikes by Trenitalia, Italo, Trenord and local transport companies appear as the Ministry's list names them. • Healthcare and other sectors: the app links to the Strike Guarantee Commission calendar. Disclaimer: Scioperi Oggi is an independent informational app. It is not an official source and is not affiliated with the Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, the Department of Public Administration (Funzione Pubblica) or the Strike Guarantee Commission. Strikes can be called off or changed: always check the official source and your operator.
