About
Sciton Stream is the receiver-side of a low-latency video pipeline for the
Sciton i.MX8 camera platform. The app listens on UDP port 5000 for an RTP /
H.264 stream sent by a Sciton hardware camera box on the local network, and
displays the decoded frames via VideoToolbox.
The app cannot produce video on its own. Without the paired camera box, the
reviewer will see:
- A launch screen, then an idle screen showing the device's local IP and a
"Start Listening" button.
- Tapping Start binds the UDP listener; the status changes to *Listening on
port 5000*. With no incoming stream, the view remains in this state with
no errors.
- Tapping Stop returns to idle.
There is no account system, no remote server, no third-party SDK, and no
data is transmitted off-device. All video is received locally over Wi-Fi.
