What's New in Scout Theory

1.0.9

August 29, 2026

The map now always faces north. Rotation and tilt are switched off, so camera directions, the wind overlay and the facing compass always line up with what you see. Zoom and panning are unchanged. Fixed: map style buttons were cut off at larger text sizes, and the Layers panel could run past the bottom of the screen.

NH Land Scouting

With 250 acres, this has been incredibly helpful for identifying patterns and new areas to scout. The more I use it, the better it gets!!

FAQ

What is Scout Theory?

Scout Theory is a scouting platform designed for whitetail deer hunters. It helps you log your observations, analyze terrain, and uses AI to predict deer travel patterns and optimal hunting spots on your property.

How does Scout Theory predict deer movement?

The app analyzes your logged data, including trail cam sightings, rubs, scrapes, beds, and trails, alongside terrain information specific to your property. It then uses this data to predict where deer are likely to travel and bed.

Does Scout Theory share my data with other users?

No, Scout Theory is built around your ground and uses your logged evidence. Your data is not shared with other users, ensuring your scouting information remains private.

What does the confidence score in Scout Theory mean?

The confidence score indicates how strongly your logged evidence supports a recommendation, not the probability of a deer being present. Green scores are confirmed by direct sightings, while yellow scores are predicted from terrain and sign.

Can Scout Theory predict when deer will be active?

No, Scout Theory focuses on predicting where deer are likely to move and where to hunt, based on your data and terrain. It does not provide specific timing predictions, as that is dependent on many unpredictable factors.
