Great concept but…

Another great concept but until there’s an ambassadorial incentive to boost participation, it’s useless where I live (Northern Cali).

Rubbish

Can’t make any sense of it. Very confusing nit going to bother with it will delete it

Very useful

I don’t get in a muddle with what recycling to put out now I am using the app. My garden waste bin reminder was somehow dropped off the system but a quick email and everything was back correctly in time for my next bin reminder. Couldn’t fault them. Great and helpful service.

Very Helpful Reminders

The Scrapp app gives very helpful reminders of when to put each waste and recycling bin out. When this went wrong, for my property, the folks at Scrapp quickly solved the problem by getting updated data from my local authority. My authority is pretty clear on what they will recycle so I hardly ever look up an item by its barcode.

Recycle

Doesn’t include Garden Waste collections

Great App

The app is so useful and the bin reminders are really helpful. I had a couple of issues and sent feedback via the app. I was astounded to receive personal, prompt and very helpful replies. There are a few minor niggles but I have no doubt they’ll be fixed.

Save the planet 🌎

My go to recycling app since 2023. Updates look great!

♻️💚

New interface is really clean and the articles section is great for browsing info on materials

Awful App

Terrible, busy, app which doesn’t do the simple thing that everyone will want.

It’s a fair start to supporting residents

Notification of household and food waste collection was accurate and helpful.

WHY does it not include garden waste after all it’s the same local authority that collects the household rubbish?

Buggy and inaccurate

Christmas period dates for garden waste recycling given in this app are different to those on the local authority’s web page.

Faced with unresponsive blank page when I put my postcode or location in the app.

App suggested I was in Ealing and not Wokingham.

It’s a massive shame that this app has been put out before testing and will put so many people off recycling.

Loads of potential

Loads of potential but lots of items I’ve scanned rely on me inputting the details of the packaging I’m trying to recycle which is often not obvious, or even given on the packaging. If companies were mandated to detail the composition of each item of packaging for their products (instead of generic symbols which often leads to recyclable and non-recyclable items getting mixed up this app would be super useful!

Great product 😋

I couldn’t write my bad review but this app is honestly a waste of time and it also used up all my storage please don’t waste your time on this product. Not only that but this app is also very boring THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!😡😡😡

Crapp

Scrapp is simply scrap everyone knows in my local authority to recycle ♻️ plastics, metal cans and glass bottles plus carb board. What is the point of this application if you already know all those things. Before you could search up items that you were unsure of recently a light bulb for me with the old RE3 application that has slowly ultimates met its untimely death-so now I have simply created a short cut to the look up on the website. Like others have mentioned it did not even recognise the packaging for a light bulb and it would seem like a lot of things the product range and outgrown the database, I see very little people updating the database to especially when it is like this. For me a lot of people like my mom are not very tech savvy at all and not even think about using something like this. Once again an utterly useless application that has replaced an already faulty one.
Am I wrong in thinking that the old application must have been run by people to lazy to keep to application la database up to date with what we can and can not recycle ♻️ so that has been discontinued to be replaced by an application that we already know what categories we can recycle ♻️ metal, glass, cardboard the list goes on bar toxic waste I can imagine which is a no brainer. It is as if people are to lazy to do there jobs and are now relying on people to do there jobs and update their database with the products as can and can not recycle making this application essentially useless like human beings are slowly being assimilated and amalgamated into some sort of AI program to do the automation for the last buggers who should be doing this already. A loss of service and sorry we are not robots 🤖 or ever will be!
What are we paying our council taxes and increased rates for apart from a loss of service. I liked to have the ability to look up what I can through in the bin if it was bicycle lights and such and where to go and now we literally have this trash garbage 🗑️
You are better off creating a shortcut to your screen to the RE3 database look up then this in my opinion as I already know what is on the database which is everything I can recycle pretty much seems a bit stupid to look up items you already know are and are not recyclable considering the breadth of this application.
Who’s brain 🧠 child was this anyway ?

App has a lot of bugs

The app often fails to open iOS 17.4
The setup went well no issues
I scanned my first barcode, but the product was not found. I was surprised as the item was a common product. Then, I was asked a lot of technical questions about the packaging. I don’t think your average Joe would have such knowledge. So, I guessed which kind of defeats the purpose of the app. On contacting Scrapp about the scanning feature Scrapp's response was “ This is something we are working on, and we hope to make more products available soon. Any brand and retailer is allowed to upload completely for free and we have solid product coverage mainly in the USA. What makes getting a high product hit rate increasingly difficult is that if an item has a slightly different size it has a separate barcode.”
Good idea but needs to be foolproof or no incentive to use it.

App not working

Never managed to get this app to work downloaded it two days ago just crashes

Mr P

As I always do, I searched for the app by name rather click the link provided by entering my local recycling centres name of ‘re3’. But I it odd that the first result was for some sort adult swinging club called… re3!

I didn’t notice in the eMail that it’s actually called ‘scrapp’! I knew something was wrong because being a pensioner I somehow think I’m a bit too old to start ‘swinging’ now 🤣

Great concept, doesn’t work

Every item I scanned came up as an unknown product. Stuff I knew was recyclable was coming up as unknown.
