We come from farms and sprawling cities, bleak uplands , honey coloured stone villages and cookie cutter executive estates…but we have one thing in common, a love for our countryside and its furred and feathered co-inhabitants. The contributors to Scribehound give us an insight into what is happening to our countryside and why it matters, especially under a spiteful government that heartily dislikes everything rural.

I love the wide variety of subjects covered giving a choice of depth for whatever one feels like reading/listening to.
Countryside
A daily dose of sensibility, should be essential to all that care and are interested in the many subjects covered. Though provoking, challenging but well considered articles each day
My new habit!!
I love receiving all this daily knowledge on the countryside. The articles are so well written and I learn something new everyday. You can listen to them on the dog walk or in the car too which is handy when I need to catch up on one or two! So easy to navigate the app. Top stuff!
So much content!
Just the most fabulous, interesting and thought provoking content on this app. If you love gardens , ecology and chatting over the garden fence then this is for you. The articles are beautifully written and if you find gardening and nature soothing then listening to them might help you drift off to sleep too!

Terrible site
This site is not for me, but will suit others.
The problems arise when you try to cancel the subscription. It is almost impossible and after months I am still being charged.
I would not recommend this site to anyone,
feels like I’ve been scammed.

Good things: clever, creative writing and diverse topics
Frustrating things: the need to search for your preferred authors, often not able to find their works or newest works, having to restore your purchase if you have beyond the basic membership. If I have the app, have purchased a subscription and know who I would like to read why is it so hard?

First of all, it sounds like you might not be logged in with the account you subscribed with - if you get in touch, we can identify immediately. Regarding the search, we'd need more info to be able to help here as the homepage is set chronologically and all the authors are easy to find at the top of the page and in the search function.
Brilliant listen
I listen to each article while gardening at home or in my allotment . I still garden in winter and love hearing different ideas and stories that this magazine brings. Worth every penny!

Went onto Scribehound to be told I’m using an old format. So I updated the app. Now a lot of the voice articles just won’t play…

My morning ritual
I listen to the daily scribehound essay first thing in the morning with a cup of tea back in bed and looking out of the window at the grey November days. Scribehound has changed my mornings, I look forward to each days reading. Each day a new and different subject
I’m trying to find the words to describe the pleasure it gives me. It is revealing new avenues of thinking to me and I cannot recommend it enough.

I got excited, too quick
Great idea. I paid for a subscription, but the app kept asking me for more. Navigating it is a nightmare.
A Splendid Way to Start the Day
Only day three and it seems as though Scribehound Gardens has been arriving in my inbox for weeks now, and I’m happily addicted. And what a wonderful antidote to the doom and gloom from the online dailies, the conspiracy theories and frankly terrifying revelations from the Daily Sceptic and endless elections, murders, bombings… I’m so over Bad News! Now back to Matt Pottage….
