Bible verses as you type

About
Scriptorium is for taking notes in church.
When the preacher says "turn with me to Romans 8", write Romans 8:28 the way you'd write it anyway. Scriptorium notices the reference and offers to put the verse in; one tap and it's in your note. No flicking between your Bible app and your notes, no copy and paste, and you're still listening when the next point comes.
Around that, it's a proper notes app:
- Want a verse without waiting to be asked? Type @Romans 8:28, or tap Verse and search. Ranges like John 3:16-18 work too.
- Three Bible translations built in: World English Bible, American Standard Version and Berean Standard Bible. Tap a verse's translation to switch it.
- Works offline. The Bible lives on your phone, so everything works as expected offline.
- Bold, italic, underline and strikethrough for your own words.
- File each note by notebook, preacher, date and tags.
- Search for a word, a preacher or a reference. Search John 3:16 and you'll find every note that quotes it, whichever translation you used.
- Press and hold a verse to see related verses, and add one to your note.
- Notes save as you type. Delete something by mistake and it waits in Trash until you decide.
- Share any note as plain text.
- Text can go as large as you need, with dark mode and VoiceOver support.
- On iPad, your library and the note you're reading sit side by side.
What it doesn't do: it doesn't record audio or summarise sermons with AI, and your notes stay on the device you write them on.
There's no account, no ads and no tracking. The app collects nothing. It's free, with no subscription and no trial that runs out.
Requires iPhone or iPad on iOS 18 or later.
