Does not transcribe audio at all. I uploaded a simple 10 minute voice note and i keep getting an error message.
Useless App
The App is basically useless. I don’t know if I can access the desktop version or if I have to pay for it again. If so I will go with something more useful.

I purchased the app and it doesn’t work. I upload a video to have it auto edited and I can click the “generate” button to have the action done. So frustrating.
Scam | nothing works
Absolute junk. They take your money and then when you open the app, there’s nothing there.
No way to use online subscription. Disappointing!
I already subscribe to the online version of DescriptAI. There doesn't seem to be a way to sign in to use this app. Very disappointed that they would try charging customers twice.

This is not associated with Descript editing software. It is a deceptive scam. When I reported this scam app to the Descript help chatbot it informed me that Descript does not have ANY MOBILE APP. So not this one, not any app. I reported this app for misleading/fradulent activity to the Apple App Store and so should you. If you were looking for a mobile workaround like I was, the real Descript has lots so just ask their very helpful AI.
Also this app doesn’t even have a free or trial version- literally designed to trick you into thinking you’re getting the mobile version of your awesome Descript software to steal your money. REPORT if you have been scammed.
And it sucks- look at the other reviews about (complete lack of) functionality. Save your money spent on this worthless app and get CapCut for your phone-based editing needs, or ask the real (desktop/browser-based) Descript AI for help with your workarounds.

Can’t actually edit on phone app
It’s a little confusing at first because you can’t edit on the phone. You can upload and transcribe the video but that’s it. You have to don to the desktop to edit the video. I thought I downloaded the bootleg version or something. There are not any instructions on the app and I paid for a year and it just kept telling me to upgrade. I’m like I’ve already paid for a year at the almost highest plan and I can’t get any instructions on what to do. I had to look it up but I got it now.

Scam
It didn’t even try to upload my video. I got nothing. I cancelled with a week left on the subscription and it wouldn’t let me back in the app. Kept prompting me to purchase. Do not download.

I have been trying to cancel for months and there is no way to cancel, no one to contact to help you. It’s a lie they say “cancel anytime”. Beware!

What is the point?
Why ruin a great desktop product with a useless app that charges an additional $5 a month? And doesn’t let you log into your existing account. What is the use case? If they are two separate products make that clear.

Tested uploading on different sized files & photos. Nothing uploaded into “projects”. Zero productivity accomplished. Cancelled subscription. Will investigate further.
Such a useful editing feature
I love how easy it is to edit the transcription directly. Highlight, cut, or add notes effortlessly. It’s a real time-saver!
