Charged My Card Even Though I Canceled Before the Trial Ended
I downloaded the app on the 2nd, looked around, and decided the very next day that it wasn’t for me. I followed the cancellation instructions exactly and received a confirmation email on the 3rd confirming that my subscription had been canceled.
According to their own terms, I needed to cancel by the 5th to avoid being charged the $6.99 monthly subscription fee on the 6th. I canceled two days before that deadline.
Then, on the 13th, I received an email saying they had charged my card on the 6th anyway.
I have already filed a dispute with my credit card company because this charge was not authorized. Requiring users to sign up for a free trial just to use the app is one thing, but charging them after they’ve properly canceled and received confirmation is unacceptable.
Based on my experience, I’d be very cautious before signing up. Keep your cancellation confirmation emails just in case.
