Thank you for trying Scrolls. Our King James text is the standard 1769 edition, word for word, and it keeps the original old spellings like "shew" for show and "musick" for music. Those can look like typos, but they're how the KJV was printed. If you spot a verse that still looks wrong, tap Chat with us in the app and send us the reference. We'll check it against the source text and fix anything that's ours.
Love the idea, but no free version

Thank you for the kind words, and for recommending it anyway. Scrolls starts with 3 days free, and the yearly plan works out to a few dollars a month. That pays for no ads, no data sold, and an explanation under every verse. If money is what’s in the way, tap Chat with us in the app and we’ll sort something out together.
I wish it was free (but it’s worth every penny)
Great App

Thank you, that means a lot! Audio is a great suggestion, especially for readers with visual impairments, and we will be offering it soon. In the meantime, iPhone's Speak Screen can read Scrolls aloud: turn it on in Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content, then swipe down from the top of the screen with two fingers.
Too much money

Thanks for the honest feedback. You can try Scrolls free for 3 days before anything is charged, and cancel in iPhone Settings before the trial ends. After that the yearly plan is $29.99, about $2.50 a month. The subscription keeps Scrolls free of ads and data selling, and it’s what lets us work on the app every day: a plain-English explanation under all 31,098 verses, reading paths, a reading partner, and more. If something got in the way of trying it, tap Chat with us in the app and we’ll help.
